About the same price as the Supra. Tune + turbos + trans build + fuel upgrade + exhaust to get over 600WHP. That's about $1000+$2000+$6000+$1000+$1500 exhaust = ~$12K to get over the 600WHP/WTQ trans limiter.
Are you sure you're doing the switch correctly?
I just hold the cruise control speed down (all the way down) for 3 seconds. The tachometer will then snap to a number to show what map slot you're in. For example, if I hold mine down it goes to 3000 RPM to show I'm on the 3rd map for 93 octane...
If it's not so presumptuous, I'd like to offer a potential solution that worked for another platform I'm involved with, where single exits are very common for weight and power. Like the Supra, the factory exhaust is dual exit with an integrated valence.
The solution was to create a plug...
73% of the smartphones in the world use Android, and the morons at Toyota USA did not feel it important to provide Android auto despite capable hardware. My phone is, therefore, occupied with more important things.
I run a pair of Banks digital gauges. Plugs into OBD. Way nicer than the AEM gauges. This car already has all the sensors you could ever wanted reported over CAN.
I've emailed them to add the PID for trans temp, but everything else is there: EOT, ECT, EGR, AFR, MAP, PSIG, fuel trims, yadda yadda.
Flashed the new multi-map OTS. Everything works well. Map switching from the cruise button works okay, but I'm staying on that map 3 93+flex forever lol (until I custom tune with my new turbo).
The license is tied to your car. It's yours until you sell it or dump the car in a river. But because your ECU was re-locked by the recall, you will need to pay for a new unlock. But not a new license.
