Agreed. I wish they would have went in this direction as well. Pretty disappointing considering the cost of just a subwoofer, enclosure, amp, and tuning. They must be very happy with their tuning results to justify charging $2500 for just those components.
It's somewhat of a hard sell without...
Here's my specs OP, although I have similar issues that you have - very floaty and steering wheel vibrations at high speed. Do you also experience any steering wheel vibration at highway speeds and above? That's an annoying issue I'm trying to resolve but so far nothing has worked. Wheel balance...
Or just run a proper 5W-40 oil in hot climates and 5W-30 in cooler climates and actually protect the engine while driving it like you want to, unlike the watery EPA rated garbage the manufacturer recommends from factory.
Good thing the oil I use is a GTL base oil (natural gas to liquid) which is much cleaner than your typical crude oil, Porsche A40 approved and has an extremely low NOACK. So that shouldn't be a problem.

Bro ACEA C5 is literally a European oil standard that only exists to satisfy EPA emissions standards and raise fuel economy, as I've already stated - which is why you can't find anything higher than a 0W-20 (it's basically water). It was also introduced to prevent blockages in diesel particulate...
0W oils are EPA fuel economy oils. Most current turbos run them strictly for EPA reasons, but of the past 10 or so turbo cars I've owned, I've ran 5W-40 in summer months and a 5W-30 during winter.
FCP Euro and almost every tuner shop I know of recommends a 5W oil for turbo BMW applications...
Yes I know what it means. The first number matters too. It's pumpability in winter yes, but a 0W is still thinner (aka more pumpable in winter) than a 5W.
A 0W-30 is thinner than a 5W-30.
I'd advise you to not run 0W-30 oil in these cars, especially in the summer. That's gonna shear down to basically water. BMW engines run extremely hot and that's not gonna provide the protection needed in the hotter months, although in the coldest winter months it would probably be ok. When I...
Found a 2019 TIS manual for the G29 Z4 that says the same. I very seriously doubt it matters if our gas is that low in sulphur, but it seems BMW's standpoint on LL04 hasn't changed. I'll err on the side of caution still.
Weird. I spoke to a Pennzoil engineer directly (out of uncertainty) and he specifically stated not to use the L brand. He also said it was discontinued. He never mentioned that it exceeded the LL01 spec, only that it was formulated for diesels with particulate filters and not to use it here...
Redline 5w30 is "suitable" for LL01, but it doesn't carry the official approval. It's a great oil though so I wouldn't worry about it.
But yes, LL04 is a spec mostly designed for diesels with particulate filters to keep the exhausts clean, but it doesn't protect against high sulfur content as...
