Performance only noticeable when I actually change maps on JB4. Higher E content won’t do anything for you on stock tune. I did notice it was slightly cheaper than a full tank of 93, and on occasions where I was driving normal this could result in more savings.
But in reality you all know the...
I regularly put in a "few" gallons to add some more spice to the pops and bangs, and the car can run on e25 even with the stock tune. I usually never add more than 3 gallons unless it's a special occasion where I change JB4 maps...
I've heard they wear down over time especially in the hotter areas. Plastic wearing down faster than the metal upgrades. Could be a culprit later in life for a boost leak.
Plenty of dudes safely running e50/e40 mixes with a slight tune (OTS or JB4). But for full E85 as @zrk mentioned you need port injection, and a tune obviously.
From what I've seen all of these main guys (Payn, Visconti, Twisted, Marin) are making big power on their custom tunes. It's not really the level of power that is differentiating, but rather the drive-ability of the tunes on the street. Dyno numbers are one thing, daily driving the car can be a...
Local? Don't wanna bash anyone but since you are in the area go check out PPE (Performance Playground Engineering). They are building real fast supras and know their shit.
I followed pretty much everything he did for his BMW:
I don't know for sure if my brake lights themselves flash under heavy braking (never seen it happen myself).
But I can tell you now when the rare occasion happens I need to jump on the brakes hard, I come to a stop and find my emergency...
I think not, but don't know for sure. This should be easy enough to do with your OBDLink module+BimmerCode. I also did a bunch more fun stuff like coding in the i8 chime, coding out the seatbelt warnings, start in sport mode, flash emergency lights on hard braking, M sport logo on startup, high...
I have mine in sport plus before I flashed. I don’t bother using normal mode for transmission or engine unless I’m in full normal mode for efficiency. I’m not the best person to tell you of the differences, but I can tell you now my car is angry on manual downshift. The throttle blips+sport plus...
Guys, we all are entitled to opinions but let’s keep the thread on track so it doesn’t get removed. If you wanna start an off topic thread then be my guest.
save the bashing for over there so this thread doesn’t get canned. I don’t like John as much as the next guy but it’s not gonna be a...
I think concern is that the V1 tunes might cause excessive stress on clutch packs and drivetrain, especially for the fast boys.
There are some dangerous features in there like drag mode that could cause chaos in your transmission as it removes all safety parameters and just tries to shove it in...
Not seen many of the upgraded trans boys yet using it, but the ones that have defiently reported different experiences than stock. Time will tell and the miles will show the proof. For me the shifting experince in M mode is just bliss :)
I think at stock power even stage 3 is safe. Enabling drag mode is clearly what will get you in trouble, or if you are using line bump. All of these are gonna affect your clutch packs negatively.
I don’t get it, I never really had an opinion or cared about John and his team. That is until they started executing this targeted harassment across multiple platforms anytime I try and talk openly about what I’m doing, or what’s going on behind the scenes with these ECUs.
I set out to try and...
