I guess one way around the auto start/stop after the update would be to get the XHP flash since that has the auto start/stop disabling feature. However, I haven't seen anyone do the update then used that option on XHP yet so can't confirm that it'll work.

Same here. This is the first turbo car I've owned that has the feeling of zero turbo lag.
