  1. Is a 2024/2025 Supra a good choice for a daily driver?

First of all, welcome! :D I bought mine new 4 years ago and still love it. I've always been a manual guy, but the ZF8 is a masterpiece. My experience... I've almost always had sports/sporty cars. I've always enjoyed them to the masses or sedans and SUVs regardless of practicality or lack...
  2. Supra facelift discussion thread

The ADRO front bumper is a love/hate for me. Though I love their rear diffuser. Maybe a good combo would be the ADRO rear diffuser and Seibon MB-Style front lip.
  3. Supra facelift discussion thread

That does look cool. However, zooming in, it looks like CGI - there's no hood/bumper line. Even the door panel L-shaped lower trim has no line. ? If you're looking for a different front, try the ADRO bumper. :dunno:

I'm so jealous everyone outside the US gets that center amber tail light LED. We're just stuck with the red. ? You'd think the DOT would want the better and brighter amber hazards and turn signals? :dunno: But we do have those wonderful front and rear bumper reflectors.:banghead:

I like the hood like this. It's different. It also matches the look of the fenders.
  6. Interior ambient lighting kit?

I have the OPT7 footwell kit as well the Amazon kit that @apatel471 linked above. Fuse tapped into the heated seats and power mirrors fuses so it turns on when I get in the car and turns off 6 minutes later. I set them both to the orange hue which matches the interior switches.
  7. Lightweight battery alternative

I do but only sometimes. Sometimes I forget to lock it in the garage, but I do try to keep my key fob as far away from the car as I can as I heard that if it's too close or left inside the car, the key fob and vehicle keep sending signals constantly to each other. I know that vastly...
  8. Any Remote Start Coding Options?

But it's not cheap ($675) and requires a lot of re-pinning in the ECM. https://www.bimmer-tech.net/category-bmw-remote-start-retrofit
  9. 3 year maintenance Brake fluid/pad and rear differential fluid

I had the CTEK Lithium US charger/tender since replacing the battery. Been working great so far. Plus, it takes care of the BMS. "The operation is simple and charging will commence upon connection. With no need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle, at charge start the LITHIUM US will...
  10. 3 year maintenance Brake fluid/pad and rear differential fluid

There's another threaded hole under the battery that allows you to move the mounting bracket over to fit the smaller lithium battery. It's a straight swap. Yup, then just code the Li battery in Bimmerlink.
  11. Lightweight battery alternative

Interesting. I have the CTEK Lithium US tender/charger and it's been working fine. I can see why and how PowerTex would want you to buy a charger/tender from them. However, the CTEK Lithium US is specifically made for LiFePO4 batteries. "The operation is simple and charging will commence upon...
  12. 3 year maintenance Brake fluid/pad and rear differential fluid

I probably could've gotten away with a new AGM battery, but decided on the lightweight lithium. Overkill? Probably. But I do travel a lot and leave the car for a week or two several times a year in the garage on a tender. Plus I run a hardwired dashcam (front and rear) when driving and leave...
  13. US Taillights (ending WAA02) vs Foreign Market Taillights (ending WAA01)

There's a guy on IG (forgot his name and handle) who does the clear and smoked lens swaps. I asked him about the ROW (rest of world) tail lights with the center amber turn signals on a US car and he said the OEM US wiring won't allow for it to work properly unless you do a lot of wiring and...
  14. 3 year maintenance Brake fluid/pad and rear differential fluid

I have done all of this. I'm currently at 14k miles after 4 years. 1) I changed to the Z16 pads. Probably not great for tracking, but for street they're fine. Plus, no more brake dust! 2) I flushed mine not too long ago with RBF600 and the Motiv power bleeder. 3) Motul 300LS 75W90. Don't...
  15. Always a pleasure to drive my Supra

One of my favorite quotes. Right along with historian, philosopher and logician Bertrand Russell's quote: "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."
  16. Cost to wrap or paint Carbon fiber hood

I would've done the paint-matching hood for $1k, honestly. But 2-3k sounded like a serious rip-off. If it was an insurance claim, I wouldn't care how much as long as it was done right. But for cosmetic mod, I'd rather wrap the whole car for that crazy price.
  17. Cost to wrap or paint Carbon fiber hood

    No, a different one.
  18. Cost to wrap or paint Carbon fiber hood

I got quotes from 2-3k on paint-matching the hood from 3 well-recommended shops in the DFW area. Two of them said they'd need the car for a "few weeks" to "blend-in" with the other body panels (front bumper and fenders). ?? Wrap quotes were about $500 including material. However, a buddy of...
  19. Official Ricer Thread - Bad Mods & Accessories

Reminds me of buying new stainless steel appliances with that protective blue film everywhere.
  20. Supra Ownership Longevity

All of this. If I had to buy a Supra today or start all over again, I'd get the manual. This is my first auto besides my past '15 Golf R. I've always had manuals and always loved manuals. But when I drove a Supra from Turo for a weekend before my purchase, I was shocked at how...
