Exactly... or the complete opposite: They work in a dense urban environment where they have designated parking at their office but everything nearby (for meetings, lunches, etc.) is so crowded that having to park anything, other than a bicycle, would be prohibitive.

I think it's actually the dampers in the A/C system closing - at least if it's the sounds I often hear inside. You can hear it from every vent if you put your ear against them. My guess is that part of the "sleep" process of the car is to close all the dampers completely - either to prevent...
