  1. Your favorite modification?

PPF (XPEL Stealth) on the whole car.
  2. poor service before I buy is this what to expect

Sorry in advance for the wall of text. I need to vent at bit, but since you asked you might as well hear this... Honestly I must have been lucky with all the different car dealers I've done business with in the past, because I've been unaccustomed to just how underwhelming dealing with local...
  3. šŸ‘£ Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

My bad. I edited my reply while you were composing yours. The GR86 was just one example of a possible reason. I don't think that would apply to every potential GR86 customer, but perhaps a portion who are on the fence with the MT being a differentiator.
  4. šŸ‘£ Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

If a company wanted to convert more potential GR86 buyers to the more expensive step-up 2.0 Supra model. I don't have insight into Toyota's market research or internal business details, but there could be a variety of scenarios where this is a desirable business decision for them. For example...
  5. šŸ‘£ Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

Not sure that's how that works, but that's not my field. I would suspect, however, that if Toyota offered the manual in the 2.0 (along with the existing AT option), and not in the 3.0, that the numbers of 2.0's sold vs. 3.0's would be significantly different.
  6. šŸ‘£ Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

I too wouldn't be surprised if the MT option showed up only on the 2.0. Reading this thread it seems like it's the compromise option that would satisfy most participants, if some can get past the 2.0 vs. 3.0 FOMO.
  7. How Many Miles On Supra?

LOL! You don’t have that thing PPF’d yet, do you? I was so terrified to drive it until I had that on there. It’s my daily, so I had no choice. I was really lucky not to have any chips during the week and a half I drove it before install.
  8. Phantom Matte Gray Owners, Manifest Yourself

XPEL Stealth, and then they put XPEL ceramic on that and the wheels.
  9. Tuning your post 6/20 ECU without Cloning!

The plot thickens. Will the tracking page have to be updated? ?
  10. Supra facelift discussion thread

I suspect only minor tweaks from here until the J29 is retired. If anything, I suspect most of those tweaks will come from adjustments to the availability of parts in the BMW supply chain rather than Toyota calling for them. Perhaps the occasional aesthetics only ā€œSpecial Editionsā€ as they have...
  11. 2022 Supra Locked DME ?

If you’re willing to have your ECU shipped to Russia, or use a piggyback, you have options to tune your car now. Plenty of threads that cover those options on the board for the last month or so. I echo one of the other replies here that there are plenty of folk happy with the car as stock, count...
  12. Just got a 21. Have question

No problem. They have an Elantra N coming out (the Elantra and the Sonata are both sedans, so could be confused), but even a full Hyundai N car shouldn’t be too much trouble for ours. Might be close with a 2.0, but haven’t compared any published numbers.
  13. Just got a 21. Have question

You mean a Hyundai. I don’t think the full-fat Sonata N is out yet, so it was most likely an N-Line, which is not all that much different from a regular Sonata (mostly aesthetics). That said, if the performance was as you witnessed that car had to have been heavily modified. Edit: Looks like...
  14. Keeping those wheels clean!

What cleaning tools/methods do you guys find make it easier to clean the brake calipers in particular? Cleaning them is awkward with the wheel on, but was hoping there was a better way to do it that I’m missing. I don’t want to have to take the wheels off when I clean, and a pressure washer...
  15. Functional hood vents coming soon!

I guess it's down to what folk consider functional then. I wasn't aware of the drain holes, so at least the water isn't pooling, but can we reasonably call all of this "functional" if you aren't also cutting the metal underneath to allow airflow?
  16. Functional hood vents coming soon!

Won't this just allow water to collect inside of the hood when it rains on the car? Behind the existing fake vents is just the inside of the hood, not open to the engine compartment, is it not?
  17. Why does the Supra not have remote start?

I’d like it so I could cool my car down a bit more before leaving the office after having the car sit out in the Texas summer heat all day. Scheduling ventilation might work in some more moderate climates, but it’s not really up to the task around here. I’m not so concerned about warming the car...
  18. I-phone getting hot when charging in the cradle

I find that my iPhone 12 Pro Max overheats on the cars wireless charging pad much more frequently when the phone itself is in a cover/case. Even a very thin wireless charging compatible case. I don’t often use the 12V outlet (lighter outlet) since my detector is on a mirror tap, so the...
  19. Radar Dectector

Escort Redline 360c - The range is fantastic. I appreciate the GPS feature if for only learning/suppressing repeated false alerts. It's stupid expensive though, and there are cheaper options that are probably pretty good. I installed it using a mount from BlendMount with a mirror tap cable for...
  20. A Legend Returns: New Acura Integra Coming for a New Generation

Super underwhelming. Very bland, cosmetically modified ā€˜22 Honda Civic. Apparently I had way too much faith in Acura to do a new Integra justice.
