My biggest problem (as was with all Nissan/Infiniti models I've owned) would definitely be the seats. Bad to the point where if my back was hurting I couldn't really drive it... and if it wasn't, it would be after anything longer than a 30 minute drive. Even the "premium" seats in the G37S...
If there is artificial (aka electronic) throttle lag built in to the 6sp... then I would disagree. Since this is far less likely - otherwise it's a trip to stall city - I'd tend to agree. It appears to be random, and is thankfully a bit less in sport mode, but about every 10th start in the MKV...
I'm sure it will be quite fun to drive... but that certainly doesn't mean it's the "death of the Supra" by any stretch. Hell, my B18-swapped '91 CRX was a blast - and it put ~190HP down (to the wrong wheels no less). I never felt bored with my 350Z... but I also never felt it was very fast...
I'd be very scared of every corner with something like that on my wheel. However, keeping Grandma in mind at the track might provide a psychological boost to make her proud. ;)
@gcmak - The fact that your dealership has any possibility for the customer to view the service area at all is already a sign that it's significantly more honest an operation than mine. Unless I drive all the way across town, I have to spend half an hour just rejecting all the unnecessary...
I've heard the lambskin ones provide the same protection as latex - but I don't think it's worth the risk personally. ?
On a more serious note... steering wheel covers are solving the problem incorrectly IMO. Get a replacement wheel as noted above if you want thicker or different material...
If you're a male in your early 20's driving anything other than a 10 year old minivan... they're gonna rape you on insurance - tickets or no (especially if you're unmarried). It's just like credit... when I was in my 20's I had trouble getting a CC with a $500 limit - with ~$50K annual income...
Well then I'm properly screwed because the one at my closest dealership takes >3 hours to change the oil. Guess I'd better clear a week for this update and expect a battery replacement as part of the process.
Here in California Jr. if they spend more than 10 seconds on the "visual inspection" portion of the smog test... it's because they lost their balance. No way they know what every factory cat looks like - let alone what's inside it. They usually look in the engine bay and not under the car...
Late 40's, 3 cars on policy so not broken out but it's under $2K for all 3 for the year so I'd guess less than $80/mo. for the MKV? $1K deductibles and full coverage on all 3. I think when I added the MKV to the last policy I had it cost about $300/year less than the RC-F did. It's been ~18...
Found on thesieselstop.com forum:
So yes, they do say when something is actually bad. Although still phrased as pleasantly as possible: "Something is not right here" I guess you'd just call that proper bedside manner for a mechanical diagnosis. It's easier to swallow than "engine go...
It already does (or can, if you set that option).
I loved that feature in the RC-F and IS350 - I called it the "fun ring" because it would change the gauge ring illumination from white to yellow to red. If it wasn't red - you weren't having fun. ? The speed warning for the Supra is pretty...
@wonderbr34d Congratulations. Honestly, if you're not concerned with tuning for maximum power and/or spending more days at the track than on the road... you made the better choice.
You'll get great gas mileage, comfort, and styling... while only losing out on a very small portion of the...
Whether it's companies marketing bugs/failures as features or car dealers "taking the hassle out of buying a car" by refusing to haggle on price - same crock different day. ;)
I've heard that as well... often coming from people that are driving an $80K+ truck or SUV.
Only once did I have a kid say "You know that's a BMW right?" - to which I replied "No shit? I thought it was pretty expensive for a Camry. Thanks for the heads-up." That stalled out his...
