Depends on the area and how bad of a mood a cop is in. Both the Supra (catless) and my motorcycle pop on decel, my bike even shoots flames on decel and I haven't had an issue yet.
You live in California, I'd stick with catted personally. I never had a modded car in California but I've heard stories. I've had a catless dp on my car for a little over a week now (I live in FL). My check engine light is on but nothing is harming the engine, if anything, it feels more...
Ride quality in comfort mode is actually very comfortable (heh). The car is docile until you step on it and the exhaust note is subtle but still sounds good imo. I typically only drive in sport mode when doing hooligan shit but that's when the car gets a bit uncomfortable with the stiffer...
There's a Toyota dealership in The Dalles? and They have a GR Supra?! I was there doing IT work a few years ago and I couldn't imagine owning a sports car in or around that city.
Out of curiosity, do/did you drive with VSC turned completely off? Mine got squirrely for a few yards the other day in the rain + 40 degree weather but I had it in sport traction (single button push)
Only thing I can answer is these cars definitely don't have proximity sensor alarms. And please don't install one of those cause that shit is annoying.
I had this issue after getting both rear tires patched. Took a few tries but I was able to get it to re-recognize the tires in manual mode. Iirc all I did was set the tire type in the menu at a red light and drove for a bit and the system eventually accepted the tires.
Downpipe with a tune would be a different story I would imagine. I bought a catless DP from you guys but I have yet to install it, waiting until the weather gets better since I'll be sending my ECU out and I own two very impractical vehicles.
I guess the love or hate for the smell of a catless vehicle is subjective. My bike is catless and I love the smell. No a tune will not make the smell go away.
