I'm also a 3 year owner and got my brake fluid done. Albeit for free cause my dealership messed up on the software recall update. They said mine had a hue to it as well.
I wish you luck bud... I hope they can solve it and in a timely manner. Sucks being at the will of Toyota and BMW. You'd think these things would be streamlined a bit better being that it's a collab.
Brutal... for me it was my headunit. So the car was still able to be driven. Just the touch screen for nav was blue screen of death. Insane how toyota canada handles these cars.
Well this sucks, the new oil pump didn't resolve the issue with oil measurement now they are ordering the oil level sensor lmao. And they also have to get new subframe bolts as they claim they are one use only. So my car has been sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks, going on 3.
You can be stock and the recall can brick it. It's from incompetent toyota techs not keeping the battery charging while doing it. In the middle of the firmware update the car shuts off and the car bricks.
Be proactive. My experience might be rare but it's possible. Toyota is a joke with these cars. Just be adamant on them knowing the full procedure. And make sure they have it on a battery tender to keep the car from dropping voltage during update
My whole head unit and screen got bricked from getting it updated. So make sure your dealership is fully versed on how to actually complete the recall update. Maybe get a hold of toyota corporate before hand to make sure they provide proper instruction to dealership.
Seems like a highway safety issue and the government should know that Toyota is leaving these things in. I'd assume if you got in a front collision that the cars crash safety ratings go even further out the door with literal plastic pieces of shit left in the suspension that were supposed to be...
Man that's rough. I'm starting to regret even purchasing my car. I drove nearly as long as you. Luckily mine weren't smashed into the bump stops. But my car is sitting at the dealership for 10 days getting an oil pump replaced and the car still doesn't read its oil levels. Literally a joke,
Thankfully they are actually going ahead and fixing it like they did for yours! Hopefully my oil pressure turns out good and I can read my oil through the dash screen. Sucks not having a dipstick lol!
Thank you for response! My 2020 doesn't consume excess oil , but it wasn't reading oil levels. It also had out of spec oil pressure as determined by their diagnostics. They went back and forth with Toyota Canada about it. So I'm hopeful this will fix whatever underlying issues I had. Just hard...
Can you provide any update on this? Did this resolve your problem of not being able to scan your oil levels? Also did the tech explain the task of getting the oil pump replaced? Currently going through this right now with my Supra.
