The Camaro SS 1LE is plenty quicker on a track, 6.5s faster around VIR

That is an incredibly simplistic way to look at this. By that logic only the Mustang and Corvette would sell.
I remember an interview with Tada San about what the FR-S does better than it's competition and he said "nothing" then just smiled
I never said you did, it clearly states Toyota did.
Of course the auto is a performance improvement, this isn’t 2005. But it doesn’t address that you’re equating it to cars like the NSX, GTR, Ford GT, and 992 Turbo S. It’s ridiculous to think the Supra in its current form had the same...
Youre missing the implications of it being a driver's car and not a car chasing numbers, not that autos aren't drivers cars. We literally talked about this is another thread in how I would probably buy the auto even if there was a 6mt
Agree to disagree on that.
Nevertheless, you're welcome to address what I said about power levels being a factor in this. 382hp is different than other manufacturers having way more hp in their top cars where a manual is a huge performance hit and costly to manufacture at those power levels...
Yeah I think from an aftermarket standpoint a manual swapped Supra would be rather difficult, it is no surprise that we haven't heard much of it since SEMA.
If you're going to purposely miss my point then I think it is fair to mention your argument is incredibly flawed since the Supra isn't the top Toyota, the LC and RC are above the Supra. Your point comes across as: "if you ignore the cars above the Supra, the Supra is the top Toyota."
That correlation is irrelevant. The difference is that Toyota’s fastest car has a lot less power and is meant to be a driver’s car.
There would be a lot of outrage if the 400hp STI and 400hp Z didn’t come in a manual either, whether they are the fastest car from that company or not is...
So what are you talking about? BMW uses different center consoles for manual G chassis cars so I don't know why the Supra wouldn't have one either. The Z4 has a stamped firewall for a CMC so I am pretty sure the Supra does as well. BMW clutch pedals attach to the brake pedal bracket so a hole in...
Toyota has dealt with BMW electronics before when they used BMW diesels with Bosch Ecus in a few of their models, and they integrated Toyota Safety Sense in the MKV. Also, if they did the tuning they said they did then they should have a very good idea of how everything works. And we are talking...
I agree, I really don't see a business case for this car to be made if it is going to live by BMW's product cycle. This is especially true in Europe where the Supra does not have the value proposition it does in the US and is stuck with 335hp when other BMWs (besides the Z4) will get 382hp...
That is what happens when you make a good all arounder that isn't particularly great at anything.
Those who want a sporty roadster will buy the Boxster.
The older couple who say they want a car like this will buy an SL.
The hair dresser who wants a 'fancy' convertible will buy the cheaper 2...
The Z4 was DOA and it is clear BMW has no intentions on supporting it, I’d be surprised if it makes it to 2025. They didn’t even find a way to meet emissions in the B58D in European markets with a particle filter like the M340i, nor did they even mention the G29 in the 48v electrical system update
A few reports have mentioned it, it doesn’t really make sense to me since the RC and LC are relatively close in size but I thought I’d ask.
“Toyota allegedly plans to use the Mazda-sourced rear-drive platform and inline-six engine first on a successor to its Mark X (pictured below) premium...
