I don't think M40i variants will get a 6mt. So it seems like the 6mt will have to wait until the potential S58 variant, which goes back to how the Supra and M2 will be differentiated if that happens. If the Supra does come with a manual, they will compete for sales and part of their agreement...

I think a lot of depends on the direction they plan to take the car. The car has the potential to be both a fantastic driver's car at the current power level with a 6mt AND a number chaser with more power with an auto if this chassis is as good as they say it is, but they decided to go down...

Perhaps the article I read swapped the numbers from 4250 to 4520 (178 inches) which makes the GR86 several inches longer than the Supra.

There is a lot of things insiders say that don't come to fruition so they should all be taken with a grain of salt and that is just the nature of the business. Remember the CGI blocks? Remember when It was going to have a DCT? Remember when Tada San hinted at GR models receiving all new engines...

I am pretty sure everything is a rumor at this point. But who knows, I think the Jatco-Mercedes 9 speed that Nissan uses in their trucks is a possibility as well.

The auto or the manual? The auto version is DOA if they don't update the Jatco 7at IMO.
