What do you all use to air up at the track?
Iām considering buying a compressor but donāt want one that sucks.
Also, any suggestions for starting tire pressure for PS4S on track?
Damn Ren, you waited a long time for this.
Congrats on the car - love your options spec.
Definitely looking forward to your real world review. Youāll be able to compare it to the Supra and other bimmers youāve had in the past (was it a previous gen M240i?).
Iām still in love with the Supraās...
Ha, I should have caught up on all the replies before I posted (above). Very cool that things have been smoothed out with XHP since the early days. I stopped following the thread for a bit.
Thatās interesting. I use sport plus for the transmission only, and havenāt found it to be ātwitchyā, just slightly quicker some of the time (maybe 15%?). Iāve driven it a bit in autox and track in that mode without issue.
is there a specific scenario where it upsets the car?
re: XHP - I like...
Totally agree with this one. Even if you do HPDE (or plan to), autox is a must in this car. You can do things that will get you black flagged at most track days and really learn the limits well. And itās a bloody fast autocrossing platform, even stock!
No pics because itās hot and Iām tired but:
* Got JQwerks magnetic paddle shifters (thanks @Kamber ) and CSG CP pads installed.
The paddle shifters are epic. So snappy, so positive, so much more engaging.
* I havenāt taken the time to fully bed the CPs, but damn does it make it easy to engage...
I just wanted to say how happy it makes me that this thread has been one of the most active lately. Iām glad weāre building a community of people who do motorsport with their Supras. The A90 is too nice of a platform not to go thrash. ā¤
Hey there autocrossers,
I have a newb question about classing the Supra for autox.
Iām considering going to a local SCCA solo event - just for the hell of it. I havenāt made it to autox once this year (stupid work ), and donāt care about how well I do. Itās purely for the experience...
The rain matches your carās mood: dark grey!
My first ever HPDE we had a freak torrential rainstorm 10 min before heading out on track. It was probably good for me, since it forced me to chill a bit.
I had a similar āincidentā with a piece of semi tire that came apart and littered the freeway. The car ahead of me chucked it straight into the r-front before I could do a ninja dodge. I wasā¦a little upset.
