To M2 or not to M2

Obtained my M2 today. A touch of a wait - Nov to August. Worth every minute. Was superb on the Autobahn and city roads today for the drive back to Frankfurt area. Beautiful day for Day 1 with the M2.

Briefly the spec:
Toronto Red
Bicolor wheels
EU model of course lol :)
DAB Tuner(Radio)
Alcantara/Sensatec interior fabrics
Sunroof
Live Cockpit Pro/HUD
Sport-Automatic

To M2 or not to M2? That answer is always YES LOL :) ?????

Definitely looking forward to your real world review. You’ll be able to compare it to the Supra and other bimmers you’ve had in the past (was it a previous gen M240i?).

I’m still in love with the Supra’s looks and (relative) light weight. I also think it’s an unbeatable value if you want a track-friendly car. With minimal mods it’s fun and competent on track, and if you ‘send it’ on mods it’s a beast (looking at you @JackieD86!). I haven’t caught up on all of Jackie’s videos since he switched to his M2 build, but if you want a comparison of both cars at their zenith of tuning, Jackie is the one who can tell us.

Thanks for the kind reply! Ding is doing crazy fun things with the M2! I have seen a few of his posts/video's on M2 forum-Bimmerpost!

The Supra was 4Cyl version and was balanced and more than capable enough to get you in trouble - and quicker to do that than most think!

The M240 is the Xdrive current model 2022 year. Great fun, superb daily and handles the weather - road conditions nicely. The color is crazy Thunder-night Metallic purple lol.

The M2 is a complete step above the M240. The interior is nicely done and less cluttered around the dash area with the i-Drive8. That i-Drive offers so many choices/configurations its crazy. We did some training with the dealer reps to get a quick familiarization and set up for the 2000km break -in that is on-going! Only 1700 more km's :)

No matter- even in the regime one should drive in we had a great drive yesterday, and were able to sort/sample what the car can do, even driven in a slightly restricted mode until the break-in is complete.

Beautiful ? Looks fantastic in red!!!! The Euro background sure does her justice. Happy for you brother ? I’m just glad they no longer sell really cool cars at the dealer anymore. The wife and I have made so many impulse buys when dealers used to have nice cars on the lot (so to speak) & willing to deal. Patience sure paid off for you ❤

After seeing the M2 more and more, especially now in Toronto Red, the looks are really starting to grow on me. Front, front 3/4, profile, starting to really dig the muscular look. I simply cannot come to terms with the looks of the rear. It’s an absolute abomination.

Most cars have a bad angle. Go test one. Sure I have my own take on the design. Overall design plus drive and its a winner!!
Difference with the M2 is that EVERY angle is horrific. Don’t even get me started on the pep boys tacked on package that some come with.

Yeah I definitely don’t like that! But like how @RenRed2 ’s turned out. I’d seriously consider his color. Plus it’s a BMW. Something I like as well. Curious, is it now their lightest car offered?

Yeah I definitely don’t like that! But like how @RenRed2 ’s turned out. I’d seriously consider his color. Plus it’s a BMW. Something I like as well. Curious, is it now their lightest car offered?
It’s the lightest M car I believe, but the regular 2 series, plus Z is lighter as well.

Thanks! I wonder by how much? I’ll definitely have to look it up. All cars are just getting heavier ? But BMW (less expensive models) and Mazda are the two brands that I have the hardest time faulting. Love their stuff!! Hence this Supra (lighter Z4 with a hardtop) purchase.

It’s just a shortened M4, so those differences aren’t surprising.

The M135i is the lightest M / M lite bmw currently at 33XXlbs or 35XXlbs with xdrive. Unfortunately we do not get it in the USA
