That's the main issue even with the advent of all these new platforms; that is to say, information that lacks centralization and as such requires going and actively combing through it all.
Good idea however.
the issue with the mkv axles is that they are hollow... many thought they were far stronger than they actually are because the shaft diameter is fairly large, but that was assuming solid shaft.
either way, you're gonna break stuff at 600wtq+ when you're hitting that figure as fast and hard as...
^ read the last paragraph in the quoted text above your post :)
(also, as an aside. IMO, the new Z will likely be a reskinned body riding on the same chassis with small upgrades and the VR30 w/ current 6MT and 7AT options. so it might make 400hp, but it still won't be anywhere near the Supra as...
Target is ~6k per year for NA, so they didn't do too badly given they only had 6 months. I think they hoped they would hit closer to 6k in 2019 due to being initial year offered, but the reason they didn't end up moving that many was more due to supply constraints and dealer tactics.
As said, the Launch Edition is a typical Toyota USA marketing gimmick much like the 1997 "Anniversary Edition" A80
But that said, it is disappointing that there isn't much special about it. They should have gone above and beyond and done some exterior badging and options that wouldn't otherwise...
Its ~150ms on the upshift, but as said the downshift gap is wider. DCT is still faster (generally speaking), but the street manners are WAY better with the ZF, and the speed difference felt is small. A little more development though and there won't be much of an argument for DCT IMO.

I have yet to see one in DB driving around outside of company rentals and test cars. I haven't seen a Phantom Gray either, but that's a bit more understandable I think.
The rest I've seen several of in the hands of customers.
Even at 280hp it would still be a mediocre value IMO, but it's certainly better than 250. That said, the segment is super weird like I said before; it's someone that wants a premium interior/tech features/chassis, but doesn't care as much about the added output and/or is forced by laws to use...
$40k for a 250hp Supra is just a hard sell unless you really love/want the rest of the car and government regulations force you to accept that as the best you can do.
IMO, it makes far more sense to release a 250hp 86 as the step below the Supra. Then you're not paying the higher cost, you can...
I'm still hearing no 4cyl for the US on the back end. Just FYI
I know we have commentary from some that have attended dealer meetings saying otherwise, but I'm skeptical...
