You should probably read up on how and why this flutter noise occurs, then rethink if you actually want to do it. Basically, you are intentionally damaging your turbocharger for the sake of “sounding cool” by forcing air in the opposite direction of your turbine wheel. Pricey “mod.”
A unchanged 17yr old GT3 RS will keep up with a GR Corolla…let alone an R35. Okay, maybe not a GR Corolla, but you get my drift. GT3 RS has gone through several engine iterations since 2008. Like I said, what 17yr old design that can still hang with an R35?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the R35….that’s why it’s still going strong. What attainable 17yr old car (design) can you name that out of the box with a warranty can take out 98% of the newer cars??? I’ll wait…
Are they still running into trans controller issues with these? Ive seen a few boosted setups with the only setback being limp mode with the trans controller.
Excited to see what Yamaha’s involvement with the upcoming strategy will be. Considering their heavy involvement in the LFA (engine, acoustics, etc…), very hopeful for their efforts in the new offering.
I would love to see another straight six from Toyota, however, there are no signs pointing to a major revamp or investment in a completely new engine architecture. Honestly, the V6TT is a gem! If they reinforce that V6TT and add hybrid, it will be one badass whip! The only way I see them...
Those proportions are almost spot on. Especially the hood line. Look at where the hood sinks towards the front, a V6TT would sit almost perfectly behind the the peak point. If Toyota gets an inline six in there, then that will be a feat of engineering.
Just want to make things clear for...
I agree, all Supra generations have their own unique character and feel. I think if the numbers stay low-er for the MKV, it should fetch good money in the future.
Same argument can be made for the 2000GT and the MKIV as with the MKIV and MKV….but the “classic” still demand top dollar. It’s no arguing the MKV is the “better” car, but there is still alot to admire about the old whips. Question is, will the MKV do as good as the MKIV in terms of...
I only say this because I haven’t heard anything about a V8 or any further details of an inline six. All signs are pointing to V6TT w/hybrid, 4cyl turbo, and all-electric for this platform.
My predictions for offerings:
V6TT w/hybrid & 4cyl turbo for “A100.”
V6TT w/hybrid super capacitor &...
Maybe a wide angle “V” configuration??? Otherwise, any inline engine sitting 90 degrees would either sit very very low, have an unconventional oil pan, or very low displacement. There maybe a possibility for an angled inline six (similar to the B58) to fit in such a low hoodline, but I know...
Hopefully get some new info soon on the “mules” currently being tested in Japan. From what I know, not sure how an inline six would physically fit in the mules…I could be very wrong though.
That is yet to be determined. I don’t want to say something and it ends up being something completely different. Yet, based on current tech that can be executed (financially viable), I just cant wrap my head around the idea of an inline six with a hybrid setup and be “affordable.” Now, the...
