  1. Got a 94' MKIV TT Auto....Super Clean!

Just got all the parts for the 6spd swap…except for the trans. Waiting for my brand new V161 to show up. Sourced a new V161 from an ole’ friend overseas. Will have pics up this weekend.
  2. Nissan Z vs Toyota Supra

The Z is a prettier car….time will tell if the mechanicals will hold up. If its a CD009, we at least know it will hold alot of power and torque. The engine and diff has yet to be put to the test, even though the it’s the same setup as a Q Red….they may do something slightly different for the...
  3. Supra MKV or keep building my TT 370Z.

The MKV Supra is built way better than a Z. The inline six in the MKV is a better motor for tuning and the engine bay is more suited for ease of wrenching. I am sure you know this, but Z’s (from 300ZX and on) are almost always an engine out affair when installing new turbos. The Z is a 100%...
  4. wait for 2022 or get a 2021?

I wasn’t referring to 2022….I said to wait a bit.
  5. wait for 2022 or get a 2021?

I would wait a bit. Who knows, maybe a revised 3.5TT engine might be in the works by GR…one with “Two Way Twin Turbo” badging.
  6. All-new 2023 Nissan Z makes world debut!

If manual, every push in of the clutch on the Z will be a car length ahead for the Supra. If auto, it will be close. Either way, I think the Supra will have the edge. Now, a Nismo version….that will be interesting.
  7. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

BMW’s have had this issue for years. We’ve talked to numerous BMW techs, and they all said the same thing….that the sensor is inconsistent with oil level readings.
  8. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Isn’t excessive dry carbon on exhaust tips normal on direct-injected cars?
  9. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Same with my brothers car….happened once and never again. Whether its a break in period or what I believe to be something with the way the sensor is reading the oil levels and the CAN system translating it to low oil, the issue has never happened again. When my brothers car had this issue...
  10. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Regardless who made it, my brothers car had this issue….then it didn’t. Nothing got “fixed” and nothing changed, except for oil brand. Are we saying that the factory oil is designed to burn? Probably not. If this was consistently happening over and over, id think otherwise. However, it did...
  11. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

I’m pretty confident the MKV Supra doesn’t burn oil, and that the issue is related to the BMW oil level sensor. This sensor issue is across the board on all BMW vehicles, and the MKV Supra is no exception. Toyota spent numerous hours testing the MKV Supra pre-production, you guys think they...
  12. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

They should have just put a dipstick like 99.9% of the cars. Not sure why they use a sensor for this over a dipstick.
  13. E-85 flex fuel reliability check.

@Axix23 What’s so ??? @George Dankha, replace the first “x” with an “s” and the second “x” with an “f”. ;)
  14. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Correct. Excessive oil fill up is no bueno. I’d bet my dollar your oil isn’t actually low, but more so related to false oil level sensor output.
  15. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

My brothers MKV had the same issue….turned out to be the garage floor was at a slight angle. He also switched to Motul 300V….not sure if that may have helped. No more low oil level indicator.
  16. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Is your car sitting at a slight incline or decline where it’s parked? BMW’s use a stupidly sensitive oil level sensor that if your car is on the slightest incline/decline it will trigger the light. Get it on a level ground, and test again.
  17. All-new 2023 Nissan Z makes world debut!

The Supra has a better motor and trans than the upcoming Z. I’ve owned numerous Z’s in the past, and one thing I can tell you is that in terms of modding, they hit mechanical limits quickly. The MKV Supra has proven to be very stout mechanically with mostly stock components. So, if your...
  18. 👣 Official: Toyota Announces Manual Transmission Supra!

I had to revive this thread…didn’t want to make folks lose hope.:D
  19. E-85 flex fuel reliability check.

My brother @George Dankha has a flex-fuel setup with an ECUTek on his 2021 Supra…Marin Tuned. He might be able to give you some feedback.
