Toyota has said alot of things and has surprised many of us in the process. As cool as an all electric Supra sounds, Toyota’s heavy investment in hybrid and hydrogen technology says otherwise. Lookup why Toyota sold all their Tesla shares and doesn’t truly believe in an all-EV future for cars...
True, but “if” there was ever a drastic move to get a new powertrain in the current chassis (highly unlikely) it would be one from Mazda or their V6TT. Honestly, their V6TT is very stout and considering its in the LandCruiser and Tundra, it probably can handle some serious power to move alot of...
Im with you on most of what you said, however, I know Toyota wants to keep the Supra with an inline engine. If they didn’t care about that, the MKV Supra would have been a V6TT from the beginning as their 3.5 already existed then. I believe they will use the Mazda straight six or possibly go...
External influence is not the same as external manufacturing. Contracting companies to help design and engineer something is not the same as outsourcing it’s production. This alone has resulted in alot of dissatisfaction among car buyers. Yamaha helped research and design Toyota engines, they...
If anything, a new motor from Mazda’s partnership might come along. I think the chassis is contracted with Magna and so a powerplant change may be possible with a different supplier. Forget about in-house, Toyota gave up on that a long time ago.
I like MR2’s, especially the older ones….but, I think their allure has more to do with their “era-uniqueness” than an actual demand for a non-exotic mid-engine sports car. Don’t forget, the 90’s MR2’s were FI and came with “baby 2JZ’s” which is also a big factor. It’s sort of like why people...
Why!?!?! Is the market really that hot for a small non-exotic mid-engine sports car??? Toyota needs to get rid of their Marketing team and hire actual car people who know the reality of the automotive scene.
I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s still a badass car….but, another model Vette I won’t consider. At the same time, I'm sure a FI motor would probably push the Z06 in the mid six figure price range, but that’s the reality of ICE powered cars nowadays….either build something people want and it will...
Sick! Still, no forced induction, no business from me. Sorry, it’s 2021….why manufacturers are still dead set on n NA power is beyond me. With gas prices high, and emissions laws getting tighter and tighter, a smaller displacement TT would have been better. Ford did it with the GT years ago.
Tesla’s (like every other EV I’ve driven) feel “synthetic.” If all you care about is speed and reducing the 2% emissions cars make in the global scheme of things, then get an EV. I will always have a ICE-powered sports car because the; noise, smell, and feel can never be authentically...
Active Aero rear hatch in CF. This honestly isn’t hard to do. Seibon can replicate the oem hatch and provision for a flush active aero spoiler. Am I asking for too much?
