unknown on the launch.
i recommend:
run the vin with toyota. If that comes back clean with warranty intact, and the rest of the car “feels right“ then start working the deal. Try to work out having a compression and leak down test just to double check. Confirm it was one owner.
and trust your...
if the second set of whees and tires were so he could have one set for the street and one set for the track, have a compression and leak down test done.
-why does he say he is selling?
-has the car ever been modified?
-has the car ever been tracked?
-does the local toyota dealer show any flags...
Gotcha.
it could be nothing. I think we are all trying to assess what normal actually is. I just mean to say that change is very worthy of further investigation.
its not uncommon to see a little black on a boosted cars plug. But what i generally like to see is some of that brown coming...
if you drive the car as it has been advertised by Toyota to be driven, you will burn some and thats normal. Its just important to keep an eye on it. if youve been boosting, that would (to me) seem like normal consumption of a thing lightweight oil. Its these low engine lights every 1,000 miles...
this looks to me like this cylinder is showing evidence of ring bypass. Note the white deposits and the black color to the plug. For sure get a second opinion by someone in person, but to me over pics that looks like Text book burning oil. If i pulled a plug that looked like this i would...
@Kamry Yeah that sounds like a bad turbo, and im surprised you didnt blow oil or coolant. Check your oil level asap.
any play in the shaft is out of spec, and that sounds like one of the wheels is impacting the housing.
what kind of RPMs did your tuner have the turbo spinning?
edit- just saw...
i think it will be interesting to see what becomes of it. It isnt the first time a chassis (i always pronounce that like a brit in my head shassiss) has been carried over but improved.
-the cost of better materials and tech has come way down
-the economy of scale they are leveraging is...
APR has cracked the Audi version of the ‘21. Im reaching out to some buddies to see if I can determine what similarities (if any) overlap to the BMW. Could be the Audi’s didnt get as complex a lock, or theyre just better at getting around it. ?
which would be a bummer And imo overpriced. Hopefully is the first step towards the m182 style replacement Ecu.
i suspect once the M Boi’s can’t get their t00ns they will get something figured out. Hopefully that had trickle down development effect. There are simply too many cars on this bosch...
im not entirely sure what the capabilities will be, just see the direction things are going.
i will confess that if at $5k if all it does is meth or p/i; that would be a disappointment.....but the motec ecu replacement style ecu or complex piggy backs is how things will go as asymmetric...
motec is a higher power processing unit That allows better tuning. assuming you can afford either; why does that matter? And in any case, your option for a A91 is a high powered stand alone or a jb4.....theres no comparison between the two. One is a piggy back that adjusts boost targets. The...
but when it has more processing power than your bosch dme, isnt bound by a locked ecu, and has the ability to keep it in check- it’s your best option.....
there are piggy backs and there are piggy backs. given that motec can control all dme functions, with a higher data logging and processing...
called it. Just dont tell @Rocksandblues
