no youre right. Owning a car you know very little about trumps 2 decades of working off and on in race shops, especially because the b58 used in the supra is unlike any other bmw engine before it, so no experience will hold true. Thats why all toyota techs that are going to work on the supra...
and that very may well be. Im not aware of a PN change in any parts of the pcv system between the supra b58 and other variants, but i havent sat with the parts list to know for 100%
i personally put a catch can system on every Fi build I do, because it serves as a great indicator of ring...
no supra to show you pics, id try google. Im going off what i had on a previous b58 And others.
usually sans a ring or ringland issue youll find a bunch of oil during break in, and then it will lesson over time. Its a good early warning sign when youre running high cylinder temps and pressures.
ive had good luck with mishimoto’s on b58’s but i dont think brand is important as long as its baffled and flows well enough not to create crank case pressure.
-Expect oil consumption to be higher in the first 5,000-10,000 miles. I personally advise a catch can during break in- even if you dont leave it on forever.
-document oil consumption with dealer
-if high consumption remains after 5k, look at plugs and get a compression/leak down test done to...
i think this is probably his first tuner car and he doesnt have a clue what he needs, so he asked.
kinda like when someone has a shopping cart dragged down the side of the car badly enough it removes paint, and they ask if it can be buffed out. To people who have done paintwork, its obvious. If...
it doesnt say anything about a tune being required. It says a tune was one of the mods listed to achieve a certain power level.
its obvious to us because we’ve been doing this for a bit. Put yourself back in your shoes when you were first learning about cars.
it isnt to many people. It wasnt to you, at one point, until someone told you.
this is going to be a lot of people’s first ”tuner” car and theres going to be lots of questions that seem basic to people.
for the high and mighty here, remember there was a time you knew nothing and were just...
there have been a couple guys get away with the pure stage 1 on their ’40i’s and a JB4, so that might work here. I dont think anyone has tried with the supra specifically.
something like a pure 800 thats a bigger change to the compressor and different turbine that affects not only flow but...
no. The vast majority of people dont mod their cars. It will impact desirability on forums only.
when tuning for a race course file (if thats what you mean by track) im not even allowed to change boost pressure in most leagues. Its just fuel and timing.
id say get a downpipe, exhaust, meth...
it would mean not just inside bosch. But inside the encryption team.
i want to stress i have not personally seen the encryption. It came from someone i know who does some work for bosch, and even he stated flat out he had not seen it. It was just what he had heard around the shop, and that the...
If $90k for a car is in the budget, theres so so many better options. Zr1. Gt500. Used porsche 911.
i wouldnt even consider a supra if those things were in the budget.
P0420 can happen on any stock car. If it just happens to not get up to temp or you spend a lot of time at low load/idle etc it can come on.
id log the event and if it happens again or becomes consistent, contact PN. $.02
highly unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future. Ive heard from a source of mine they used an asymmetric key/256bit encryption on the processor itself. If that is indeed true, theres literally no way to brute force that open. None. Im guessing Dinan will get the keys for BMW and a stage 1...
