I'm still in for the 1KHP stock bottom-end B58....especially with E85.
Good luck fellas, glad to see some people are pushing these motors more and more everyday. :headbang:
Poor tuning...
This was inevitable...but certainly not the norm. These cars need fine tuning hands, just like Subbies.
let’s not forget the “several” MKIV’s that got their motors blown at around 450whp when people started messing with them back in the day.
Exactly! I don’t get why people get so f**ken sensitive when someone states the obvious. No one said the MKIV looks ugly because it’s old....I said the MKIV looks outdated sitting next to a MKV. @Turbro put it perfectly when he said, “....because it’s 25yrs older.” Which is absolutely the...
No one is talking shit about the MKIV @Australian of The North, so quit being so sensitive like the rest of the SF gang. All I am saying is (and for good reason) an older car is showing it’s age next to a newer car. This isn’t heresy....it is actually a good thing, in that Toyota got the...
Interesting perspective...
I didn’t say the MKIV is an ugly car....im just saying next to a MKV, it’s age is pretty apparent when next to a modern design. “Meh old hat” isn’t something to use against anything old (2000GT), but other cars during the MKIV’s era have withstood the test of time...
Yep....so much for “timeless design” ;)
I should add, the 1990 NSX (which is 4 years older than the MKIV) still looks AMAZING today! Age is just a number...
If I am not mistaken, the 1994-1998 T100's that had the 5VZFE had the original Hino design (just like all the 3rd Gen 4Runners and simialr year Taco's). Then in 1998, production was moved from Hino factory in Japan to the new Toyota facility in Princeton Indiana and were then making the all new...
Yeah, surely time will tell. The BMW factor is in the back of everyone’s mind no doubt. However, I like to think that Toyota’s stamp of approval on anything isn’t something to overlook either.
It’s kind of like Hino Motors...and Toyota using Hino engines for the 3rd Gen 4Runners. Toyota...
I was always for the MKV Supra not being called a "Supra"....actually even to this day, I still would have preferred they called it a "GT-1" or something close to the concept name (like the FT-86 that became the GT-86). I feel like it would have settled better with everyone....Supra fanatics or...
Just curious what this “reputation” is that you speak of. Please, inform me what major factor gave the MKIV it’s reputation? I really want to know...because before the MKIV made 1000hp on YouTube channels, no one looked twice at them.
