These are people that are still very well known in the Supra community and are otherwise normal owners haha. Oh well.
I think the thing is that no one is gonna say they do it, at least not to just anyone, so you may be surprised who's doing it. I know I was surprised at first.
This isn't...
I've known several A80 owners that disconnected the speedo/odo on their cars (this was in a large city with a decent sized Supra population, and it has been a decade since I lived there)...
That said, I would never say most, but I wouldn't say it was super rare either lol.
Yep, that's what happens when everyone demands the car has tech/parts from their division.
Thankfully the base is closer to the dream, but it still has stuff packed in. Just how it goes...
Intake, exhaust, BBK, sway bars, and coilovers are all being developed, which is why it's a bit odd to not see prototypes of that stuff on this car.
But there is a division between TRD and GR, which may impact how that stuff is marketed/displayed.
They can but it's generally special order and you have to have the Japanese part numbers. It's just like how certain Toyota dealers can order Japanese A70/A80 parts, but it's true that most cannot and/or will not.
In any case, I'm not a big fan of what TRD did with this car. I think most of my...
yeah, that's just parroting the same stuff from the original article.
Heres the thing though, Best Car in Japan is generally very accurate and they get their info from insiders at home base, so while these denials do hold weight so does the former IMO.
Moto is very close to Tada-san due to their collaboration on the 86, and I don't think Tada will step away from Gazoo Racing immediately. I think he mentioned staying on in an advisor role and so forth, which means Moto should be along for the ride, but it won't quite be the same as 2007-2018.
Yep, it sounds like a lack of cohesion, but who knows. It would be awesome to get a turbo 86/BRZ or even a higher powered NA one.
I can confirm 100% that Tada hasn't been working on it and he's set to retire after finishing the Supra project (or so he said beginning of last year).
Subaru apparently said they're working on it, but Toyota gave a super vague answer saying, "the 86 has been in the Toyota family since 2013 and the plan is that it will continue to be a part of Toyota’s sports car lineup.”
Not sure that really says much for the partnership or how things will...
You can't read up on it really aside from it mentioned in a few interviews, and from people like me that witnessed it. Once the car is out, I think that info will all be available in far more detail however.
An acct on IG posted this pic, but it's probably just from another model
Because as much as Akio is awesome, he's also an ego maniac that wants everything attributed to him.
It's also why they throw F-Sport badges on everything they can at Lexus. Notice me senpai syndrome...
He's still a...
IMO, 86 is the modernized rendition as one would expect. The GTS hatch was 10.6k in 1986 (2400lbs/112hp). When adjusted for inflation that's ~25k in today's money which is right about where the 86 (2800lbs/205hp) fits in.
The AE86 was way more of a shitbox than the 86 though if that's what you...
