  1. Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ

I hope they revisit the 86 eventually or replace it with something comparable, but there are several issues that provide a better argument against it vs for it. They know the 86 needs a 30hp bump minimum to be considered competitive, but that requires more time and R&D on a platform that most...

Tried telling people people there is no gen 2 in the works
  3. Shoulda just used the V35A-FTS from the LS500

open deck is never as good as closed deck for performance applications, so long as the cooling system is designed properly.
  4. Modified A90 Supra Thread

yeah, they're crazy money (~$2-3k per wheel) for what you get and used to have all sorts of issues and would refuse to fix them properly or send them back with issues still present. not sure if they still have issues, but they're still super expensive for what you get and IMO not great looking...
  5. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

I disagree entirely with the premise that the negative opinions are the voice of the majority. I would argue that it's the typical vocal minority that has defined the internet for quite some time now, specifically anything car related. The New Civic Type R, NSX, R35, and more all had a ton of...
  6. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

lol, the internet was the best thing humans ever did... I'd argue that social media has destroyed a large part of that positive momentum, but many of those causing the issue are the younger generation that lack respect, people skills, and a desire to be upbeat vs negative.

ew, ADV.1... as someone intimately familiar with their beginnings as 360Forged, a whole lot of nope comes to mind lol also see: ugly
  8. 2020 Toyota Supra production to begin 2018, by Magna Steyr, Austrian manufacturer

eventually yes, but I've driven around more than one production prototype after the production cars were for sale
  10. The MKIV vs MKV Thread

my favorite was the FT-86II (minus the weird front led strips lol)
  11. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

yes, the 981 GT4 does right about the same lap as the new 982 GTS, which is about the same as the standard A90 (whether they ever lay an official time down or not). the new 982 GT4 will be faster and is in the target range of the GRMN.

My brother's sister twice removed is a general manager at a dealership in Singapore.
  13. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

looking at things logically doesn't always yield great results.
  14. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

yeah, afaik it's 2secs faster around the 'Ring (911 Turbo S). he might mean the GTR Nismo though, which did 7:08 in N-Attack package format (WAY more money than the 911), but the regular Nismo is also slightly faster than the 911 for about $15k less.
  15. Subaru STI S209

It would be cool if you can do that, but many times they require a VIN for that and you can bet they wont be cheap lol
  16. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

depends which trim they use as the foundation, but my estimate would place it ~1400kg yes. I base this on the fact that Tada said he could take 100kg+ off the curb weight if given the opportunity.
  17. The Lexus LC500 & LC500h, Plus LC-F Talk

I didn't say anything about production... don't be so hasty with jumping to conclusions; you will have an easier life. You clearly have a million different questions and prefer lots of detail, but I simply cant give it to you. Things are different for me now on these newer projects.
  18. The new Supra is sitting at Toyota HQ lobby in Plano TX (+various Centers & Dealers)

they didn't make many of the RHD cars due to primary testing being in LHD countries, including country of origin.
  19. Toyota "Preparing" Hotter Supra GRMN, Says Chief Engineer

it's going up against the Cayman GT4 primarily and really only has to match its performance for less money, much like it does right now vs the Cayman S/GTS.
