Impressive body work. Not sure I would have gone with those tail lights as it's a bit too BMW'ish, but with the way the Supra went maybe that's okay!
Impressive.

Generally speaking the way it's done is to just not sell cars to people who don't have a Canadian address. The way around it is to have a Canadian buy the car for you and then sell it to you to bring back to the US. It makes financing or leasing much more difficult and/or impossible. In the end...
The 2ZZ should have 100% been in the MR for sure. Not sure what happened there.
The FWD Corollas were all IRS until 2003. From 2003-onwards they swapped it out to the torsion beam design. The Corolla iM/Hatchback brought back the IRS, and they're pretty nice. The Corolla kind of went on a bit...
The RS was a lame package in North America, it's true. It's actually technically an LE grade with an RS package. In Europe and Japan it was a proper grade that included different suspension, rear disc brakes, larger wheels, the body pieces and the larger engine (with better gearing and an LSD)...
I actually can't believe I forgot about the MA55/56 Celica XX's when I wrote this post. The A50-series had independent suspension vs. the solid rear axle on the A40. The MA55 used the 2.0L M-E, and the MA56 used the 2.8L 5M-E.
Thanks.

Regarding the ECU and console, a manual is likely for the GRMN Supra. Adding to that the likelihood that it will still be using a B58, we will find ourselves with a publicly-available ECU/DME that exists for the Supra with a B58 and a manual. Pulling that factory software and calibration from a...
The Mark X uses a pedal-type cable-pull park brake not an electronic version. Most of the manual transmission components in the GRMN Mark X are lifted from the Lexus IS 6MT (including the pedals, transmission, hand brake, etc.). The automatic IS also used a foot pedal parking brake. The good...
Glad the Z4 part numbers are now known. Fills in most of the gaps I was hoping it would. A console for the Supra would be nice. I certainly wouldn't be wanting to convert to a Z4 console I don't think.
Good, good.

I agree with most of what you wrote, and I'm not saying the IS shouldn't be updated (it should), but I'm curious about why it needs a new platform, and why it needs it bad(ddd...)?

The new GRMN Yaris and Vitz swapped the 1.5L 1NZ-FE for a 1.8L 2ZR-FE with a Supercharger and a 6MT, moving from 138hp to 210hp.
The GRMN Vitz added a turbo to the 1.5L 1NZ-FE moving from 106hp to 152hp. (Similar to the earlier TRD Turbo Vitz Kit).
The GRMN iQ added a supercharger to the 1.3L...
These things can be changed on the Toyota Denso ECU's, however people haven't spent the time needed to actually narrow down those pieces of the pie, because nobody cares to as far as I can tell. Everyone wants to be able to change the tuning maps and throttle response and nobody seems to look...
In my opinion, the better way to go is to work directly at the ECU programming end of it. If that is possible to the extent required (it may or may not be at this time), that is likely the way to go.
Trying to make the ECU think there's a transmission when there isn't should (in my opinion) be...
Why for the history is it often shown as A40/50? The A50 is not Supra related. Is it for people wondering why it goes from 40 to 60? Now I'm the one confused.
