Interesting development.
I spoke with the service manager. He says that the new ECU needs firmware that can only be extracted from the old ECU using their scantool. Apparently it’s not working and hasn’t been sorted out by Toyota engineering and BMW.

I encountered another owner at a cars and cigars a couple of days after I took delivery. He advised me turn it off - was quite the evangelist about it. Couldn’t be happier without the steering tug.
My friend owns a Chrysler Crossfire (similarly low volume and German guts) from 2005 I believe. The dealer can still service it and source parts despite the MB divestiture.
Similar to the Supra, apparently there’s only one guy who can work on it at the dealer.
Yeah, one member chimed in on this thread that he had the issue but intermittently.
I’m still waiting, haven’t heard a peep since Friday morning (it’s Tuesday night).

Seriously though - how can you keep the wheels tucked that far into the car? There’s no way anyone thinks that looks right.
In Virginia, seatbelts are a secondary offense. That means they can’t pull you over for it - you can only receive a citation if you have been pulled over for another reason. Cell phone usage is also a secondary offense in Virginia.
In the US, these laws are different from state to state.
Two things:
Launch control is locked out until the car has a certain number of miles. I can’t recall how many but if your car is very new that may be an issue.
Car and Driver achieved their 3.8 sec 0-60 without launch control per their review.
