In my experience 90% of these types of issues are tyre related. Tyres don't just wear out they also sometimes fail or degrade internally. Replace or borrow a set of front tyres before you go chasing other defects. The best way to check front wheel bearings is to remove the wheel and brake...
Sorry I didn't see the second paragraph in this post before. The answer is I do believe the cluct "feel" will be different but what I don't buy is that it's gong to solve the now non existant clutch wear "issue" and m
You know the best gearbox I've ever experienced in a car was a Honda. Back in...
Not quite sure what you mean here but it's probably an interpretation thing. I said "I believe" which isn't the same as fact, but I believe the CDV is there for a reason and that reason is to protect the driveline to some degree from abuse such as "sidestepping" the clutch. In normal road car...
The issue with the original pipe cracking is the positioning of the bracket on the pipe. If you butt weld a bracket onto a tube like that it's not a question of if it will fail but when. Poor bracket positioning/design i'm afraid.

Not actually true. I believe it's there for giving the driveline a bit of relief in extreme circumstances like side stepping the cutch. It's obviously there for a reason but isn't something that would affect normal drivers in normal clutch use on a road car. That's why one particular patent I...
So all this science on something that's NOT a Supra. How was the clutch released for the test? side stepped or leg release?
Every cdv system has it's own parameters.

I've not tried one primarily because they look shite. I have this fitted and I organised the car to be delivered without the Toyota front plate mount abomination screwed to the front clip. You can buy the Aussie/European plate version as well...
You know you've got an ugly looking car when you can still see it plainly even with the camouflage paint disguise. Seems like the guy in the design department had a broken wrist and struggled to draw a curved line. Slab sided doors, guards and hood look like a homebuilt from a backyard garage...
Quite like the grey wheels but I think I'd get tired of it pretty quickly. Whenever I see a new colour/look I ask myself if it's just the "different factor" that's attracting me and it often is. "Different" is transient, "classic" "stylish" or "elegant" is not. The Supra looks good in black...
Comes under the category of "trying too hard". Sometimes, well most times "less is more".
The unpainted carbon look is so 1990's. Decorative Carbon Fibre, 21st century chrome.
I know where you can get shims custom made shims here in Aus but you need to know the dimensions. Not much use to you. There is another aftermarket clutch manufacturer that shims their bearing and it's been mentioned here. Try a search and maybe you could use their shims.
The clutch is bled...
It will be an issue with regards to the dimensions front to rear or height as shown in the image of the clutch release bearing assembly. The PTB version was obviously too short so you had too much travel of the pedal/clutch arm used in simply taking up the slack created by the shorter/less thick...
It raises an interesting point for me. I'm under the impression that the A/C system is looking for a target cabin temp say for example 22 deg C. With the A/C on and the OAT say 15deg C then the Climate Control system will simple switch the A/C pump off and use engine system heat to achieve the...
Those springs would be way to beefy to damage during removal or at any time really. Springs are tough things. May be something else restricting the spring travel. Are you pushing the airbag inwards as you manipulate the spring to take the load off the spring retaining legs. Is the tip of your...
