80mm? Are you sure? That's about 3.15 inches, which is well below the 5 inch (127mm) street mod limit i need to work with.
Verus themselves have told me that their HD splitter sticks out 5 inches when i messaged them about this. Had the discussion using the chat function on their site, so no...
It was either the Racebred of the Verus HD one in the end for me. AJ Hartman would've probably won out, but at well over $4K shipped for how i'd want it optioned out....nah.
The thing that i liked most about Verus aside from being a great kit overall is....availability. Which means less wait...
Thanks. The car is at the shop so couldn't even eyeball it. I was thinking it was close and might be worth getting the middle length ones and shorten them. But yer 18 looks like plenty. Thanks!
Any particular reason you have that rod set up like that rather than how Racebred recommend? I...
Thanks for the tip. I was actually just browsing the professional awesome site earlier today for some skid blocks.
Didn't know the cables were that bad.
2 fancy, 2 standard. Err what size rods?
After going back and forth on this for months, i've finally decided which splitter i'm going to be picking up. Racebred. 5 inches. With the diffuser tunnels and endplates. I've considered every legitimate option.
The downside of course is that they take forever to make. But that's fine. My APR...
The fender is lol, since it was a painted CF piece. Looks worse in direct sunlight like you see there. Its being replaced now with an EVS fender, so hopefully the color matching turns out better this time
I do both vents and the fender slit as well. I'm actually in the process of swapping out the fenders now into the EVS ones. Pic of my current setup below
The diffuser lip thing is something i did consider to keep air from going above it. Currently running the Verus diffuser and i'm not sure...
Oil cooler arrived and should go on soon
These also came in to replaced my cracked powerflex rubber ones. Torque Solutions always worked for me in the Subaru days.
These billet aluminum pieces also came in to replace the OEM plastic ones. Don't like the Verus ones. Aside from the fact...
Disclaimer: i'm not very knowledgeable about this, and i'm just trying to learn and experiment.
I'm sure people have experimented here, but i can't seem to find anything i can learn from.
I can't fuly seal off the area, as i'm limited by class rules, but i can still get very close.
My...
They're 19.6lbs each, which is almost as light as the similarly sized Apex VS-5RS (19.2lbs) that i just ordered despite being half the price. That's a steal.
I don't think they're going to win any beauty contests, but they're not ugly either. That said, imo you chose the worst...
I've been running 295/30 on a 10.5 TE37 and it's been fine.
I damaged one of my wheels so i have a set of Apex 18x11 on the way (10 month wait for a replacement). What makes you think they're hard to get? Is it because you're only shopping locally? Apex ship worldwide.
Happy to see this come to fruition. Great job OP. I guess i need to decide if i want delete the ACC (that i don't think i've ever used now) or cut through my bumper for the Verus one.
General update on the progress:
Following parts have been ordered and have either arrived or on the way:
- Verus motor mount (80A). Will replace the powertex inserts (70A)
- Bevinsee aluminum jack pads
- OEM unpainted hood. Mine got dented.
- Triple Seven CF GT4 hood. Taking this opportunity...
yeah i don't want to dwell on the past. My wallet is going to suffer for sure, and i'm not happy about that. But, i'm focused on getting the car back together and running again ASAP.
For the video, i actually do have it. I'll have to get the Catalyst and get a new card so i can pull the video out.
Was looking forward to trying out those pads, but....Don't think i'll even get to try the 999s. Got into a minor unscheduled bodywork test at the track last night.
Going down the main straight. Overtaking. Reach the braking zone and start braking coming down from around 160 mph. A slow brz on...
