No I don't think this is the same kit as yours. I prioritized lightness, while still improving overall braking, just not by as much as if I had gone with a bigger set. So my rotors aren't massive by any means (355mm), and the calipers take a large but not so thick pad. Can't remember the...
Not as good as removing weight from the front, but tbh I can live with that. I really do want to lighten the car.
Going to remove the subwoofers soon. Can't think of many other places to drop some weight.
The hood is the last bit ticket item I can think of, but that's gonna be very expensive...
Will share my thoughts
For now, i've just run through a set of Project Mu club racers. Not bad, not bad at all. They're clearly meant for lighter cars, but for the $$, not much to complain about. They didn't trash my rotors either, and initial bite was better than expected.
I've just replaced...
This is the Alcon BBK i have on order. The 6 piston Alcon calipers weigh about 2lbs less than the OEM ones. The rotors are 8lbs less each than the already decently lightweight Paragon rotors i currently have on. So that's a cool 20lbs dropped off of my current setup. I believe the OEM rotors...
Thanks man. Will watch the vid now. I'm almost certain the wastegate issue had something to do with my meth tank failure. I did share some theories earlier (not an expert, and i'm prone to saying dumb shit, so...."theories"). Too much of a coincidence for them to be unrelated considering they...
Nice. Can't tell if that's a 991 or a 992. Matching the 992 GT3 RS MR lap times is my ultimate goal for my track/time attack build. Not gonna happen anytime soon. I don't think most people realize the significant differences between the 991 and 992. A 991 doesn't intimidate me. A 992...
So i have a lot of open topics i need to get back to, which i'll list below so i don't forget, and because i need t momentarily move on so i can also log some other updates.
1- waiting on a response from Nitron re the spring rate debate
2- waiting for Pure to send me the wastegate parts. For...
They're still valved for a specific range though, and AFAIK that range is about +- 15% or so. And we're talking about numbers well outside of that range. I'm not sure how accurate that 15% figure is, but it does makes sense, otherwise the "spring rate specifc valving" claim becomes a moot...
Had Vorshlag camber plates 10 years ago or on my Subaru, and my one rule when shopping for ones that fit my Ohlins on the Supra was....no Vorshlags. I do not like their product or the company either.
So aside from Nitron, i also had/have Suspension Secrets advising me, and they're truly good at...
Congrats on the weight loss
Having mainly tracked lighter cars, it's something i'm trying to prioritize, while keeping the car somewhat wink wink street legal. I just enjoy lighter cars a lot more.
I'm in the same place as far as weight reduction goes. Lightweight battery (on the way), Alcons (fronts on the way, didn't even know they had a rear kit?), titanium exhaust, seats etc...struggling to find more places to remove proper weight....especially from the front.
I have some ideas...
I don't have them yet, they're still en route. The only figures i have (thanks to Google) are the piston rods (14/16/22mm) and 40/46mm piston design.
Def not ignoring. He opted for custom spring rates. I'm curious to see how those rates work out for him with the NItrons, and when that time...
Give me some credit man, i'm not a naive enough to just listen to sales people. But the delta between what they're recommending for race cars and what you have in mind is massive. It's half.... Which brings me back to my original point of different philosophies and tuning levers.
I'll do a...
You made a lot of good points so far man, but this isn't one of them. Nitron is a proper company. And i got my reco from a top tier suspension company in the UK as well.
