Kern417 had a similar wastegate issue on his DAW turbo.

bootmod3 logging can be shitty. Sometimes the refresh rates get really really slow, sometimes i lose connection. Shut down the app, cycle your WiFi, unplug/plug your dongle.

not sure if you adjusted the logging thresholds, but you can go to

Menu-> dashboard -> configure dashboard -> data log settings -> scroll to the bottom.

Thanks man. Will watch the vid now. I'm almost certain the wastegate issue had something to do with my meth tank failure. I did share some theories earlier (not an expert, and i'm prone to saying dumb shit, so...."theories"). Too much of a coincidence for them to be unrelated considering they happened at the same time, and that there's more than 1 route that could potentially link the 2.

Yeah i think i'm good on the setting front. I think the fact that it's logging 1-3 seconds indicates that there's some kind of interference happening. I've tried restarting etc.. all that. I dunno could be android auto maybe trying to connect to my phone or something.

This is the Alcon BBK i have on order. The 6 piston Alcon calipers weigh about 2lbs less than the OEM ones. The rotors are 8lbs less each than the already decently lightweight Paragon rotors i currently have on. So that's a cool 20lbs dropped off of my current setup. I believe the OEM rotors weight 28.1lbs each, so the difference between this setup and OEM would be around 26lbs in total.

Made to order. Will be a 4-5 week wait

Will be running the Winmax R7 pads

Be interested to see what you think of the Winmax R7 / Paragon R7. I have yet to meet someone that had a good review of them.

Will share my thoughts

For now, i've just run through a set of Project Mu club racers. Not bad, not bad at all. They're clearly meant for lighter cars, but for the $$, not much to complain about. They didn't trash my rotors either, and initial bite was better than expected.

I've just replaced them with Project Mu Racing999, so the more aggressive pad. Let's see how that goes. I'd love for these to last until the BBK comes in. Have track days/races on the 1st, 3rd, 11th, 15th, 22nd and 30th of November.

Edit: i didn't intentionally go for the Winmax R7 pads....the BBK comes with a set of pads and i chose the most aggressive Winmax ones

I have m3 rear caliper with R5 pads. A little loud in the street, but have lasted me over 10 track days with lots of life left.

If I read your thread correctly, it looks like your on 19’s… why not try g80 m3 front calipers? I believe they’re rebranded GT m6 calipers and they’re really really good.

I can't remember the last time I changed rear brake pads. I am also still on the original rear oem rotors. 70+ track days.

Yeah I’m always surprised to see people when they run 4 POT rears… I can never get the rear brakes that hot as it is

I did consider changing the rears, to save some weight. Turns out that a rotor swap would save 1.5lbs per side. So way down the priority list it goes

Would be taking weight off the wrong side of the car too.

Not as good as removing weight from the front, but tbh I can live with that. I really do want to lighten the car.

Going to remove the subwoofers soon. Can't think of many other places to drop some weight.

The hood is the last bit ticket item I can think of, but that's gonna be very expensive and I'm not planning on doing that anytime soon. The only hood that I know of that is actually significantly lighter than OEM and has proper fender vents as well is the the Spage one. With shipping that thing would set me back like $7,500. Nope. I'd still push that one back even if it was half the price.

Speed Engineering in Germany offers an OEM style hood that weighs 9 kg / 19 lbs for €2,900
That's an alternative and you could tranfser your existing hood vents over to that one?

But still a bit expensive for only a 9 kg weight saving.

Are they the calipers that take 25mm thick pads? If so, it looks like the same kit I'm running. But I use Ferodo DS3.12 in the front and DS2500 rear.

No I don't think this is the same kit as yours. I prioritized lightness, while still improving overall braking, just not by as much as if I had gone with a bigger set. So my rotors aren't massive by any means (355mm), and the calipers take a large but not so thick pad. Can't remember the thickness but was either 18mm or 20mm

Finally shipped.

I've also spoken to both Nitron and Suspension Secrets about the spring rate debate. Suspension Secrets folks think i should go ahead and try the ones i've already ordered and then get back to them. Nitron on the other hand were a lot happier to recommend the Track/Race springs. 457/914 vs the fast road/track ones 343/800 if i thought i wanted a stiffer spring. Not the the type of answer i was looking for, which was more about the logic rather than the rates themselves, but i guess their willingness to recommend a higher rate is.....something.

I enjoy A/B testing things, even when it comes at a (literal) cost. So i ordered the the other set of stiffer springs. Will be a fun experiment. And Nitron assured me that the rates weren't too far apart to worry about valving. It's not everyday i get to run this kind of experiment, so i'm a little excited about it.
