hahaha, I stared at that for a good minute this morning until a colleague came up behind me to say good morning, and we were both like ?
I guess I haven't studied enough...
long story on how I got the job, but I summarized part of it in another thread not too long ago.
anyhow, as far as allocation I mentioned having mine there vs anywhere else and was told that would not be an issue, so not really anything black magic. I'm not going for the launch car however, so...
I assume that button below it [E] is a kill switch or to activate the fire suppression system, so as you said I'd imagine the rocker is for fuel or some other accessory they have added.
^ Oddly enough, quite a few of the comments I've seen in relation to the leaked realOE diagrams and the one our resident put together said the same thing.
Gazoo member 1: hey, let's get some more flow to those front brakes
Gazoo member 2: well, we could drill holes in the front vent block off plates
Gazoo member 1: sounds good to me
(forum goes wild...)
I have never really studied their motorsports foray for detailed analysis, but due to how convoluted everything is I think anything is possible lol.
Like you said however, logically they would likely prefer a spread where they have platforms in as many separate series as possible.
My contacts at Toyota USA noted there will be a launch edition that may also include some special things for buyers, but I'm not sure if it will be anything exciting.
I have to look into Japan as that's where I am planning to buy my car and where I have been promised allocation so.
Given what I've discussed with them (limited), they're mostly interested in GTE/GT3 level stuff which typically harnesses the stock engine.
Tada and some others in the program did mention looking into GT500 (4cyl) and other series where they use different engines iirc, but I don't think there...
Yeah, I don't think it a bad spot to be in at all, but given the lower hp it needs to be priced right.
If the I6 car is anywhere north of 55k it's probably not gonna be in a great market spot IMO. That's all outside of my area of expertise though...
Ultimately yes, because power is much easier to add vs taking weight out. That said, a winning combo would be decent power and lightweight.
I personally wish this car was coming with somewhere between 380-420hp given the production weight. but it's just that wishful thinking.
it's definitely possible, especially with someone like Tada at the helm, but I feel it is unlikely. on the contrary, one of my contacts did refer to that car as the track spec car, so I guess we could extrapolate that it may be available at some point...
