I got my A90 today.
NO PLATE MOUNT fitted.
The dealer just asked the project leader at the Centralised Services Centre and they were happy to oblige.
Edit: I am in Vic, so the car did all the pre-delivery at "Toyota Centralised Services" - not the dealer.
It was still delivered dirty and...
Problem with AU is that we don't have the same regs as NA (Warranty claim can only be denied if aftermarket part can be proven to have caused fault). It's a bit sketchier.
I'd happy argue that if I had a suspension fault, but a cat-back exhaust, that warranty should cover it, for example - but...
Love the build and the approach to tracking the car, so many people get it so very, very wrong...
But I came here for a high res pic of your avatar, because that is the good stuff!
The other option is to find or order one through an interstate dealer and have it shipped. That'd be cheaper and better than repairing the front.
Didn't someone say there are some 2023 cars in Melbourne dealers without front plates? Surely we could ask them?
I got this email this morning.
I've asked for clarification, but hopefully that means Toyota HQ has pushed the change down the line.
I had a dream it was delivered with the plate screwed in, and I just left the car there a few days
Looking at this again - they didn't even drill the rear for the numberplate (you have to drill it into the plastic) and almost ALL the factory protective covers are there (nosecone missing)
I am not sure this helps, but one can only hope!
