I’d listen to @KillxPoint on this one, he’s had more than his fair share of issues with his Supra.
Patience is key. Document everything, including when issues started and when you attempted to get the car serviced. As frustrating as it is, give Toyota the opportunity to correct the problem...
This is a good write up explaining the pros and cons on an N55 BMW motor.

You’ll fail emissions going catless. Had a buddy with a 135i try deleting his primary CATs and attempted to pass with just secondary CATs and he still...
Ooof, that would be a tough sell if they can see an attempt to flash was made. Of course, you’d never know unless you tried.
Personally I’d go the tuner route first, then play dumb if they can’t fix it. Going to Toyota first and having your car black listed might not be the best option.
What’s up everyone. Anyone have the FTP or Forge charge pipes installed? If so, how do you like them? Fitment any good? Holding up well with increased boost?
Just going off the photos, I’m liking the forge one a little more, looks well put together and much more sturdier. I live here in Cali...
I’m wondering if he could reach out to one of the protuners and see if they can bench unlock and repair his ecu before he opts on buying a completely brand new one.
Question!
Are the catted downpipes you have the new active auto ones with the hangers? I know the older ones didn’t have them. Thanks!
Here’s a photo for reference.
This is actually pretty funny because there’s plenty of truth behind it.
If it were priced any higher, people would complain it is unattainable. The last model of the MKIV MSRPd at $39k, adjusted for inflation, $63-64k. A good chunk of money more than what the MKV is currently priced at.
We...
Oh I totally agree. I think the 2.0 Supra is kind of in a weird place, but I think the pricing is reflective of the name. The build quality and the “Supra” name carry value. I do feel that the lineup cannot be compared apples to apples, they really are different performance cars.
In respect to...
I would assume the performance package would be upgraded brakes, suspension components, and possibly aero. I think drivetrain wise, there won’t be very many changes with respect to power.
It’s interesting to see where this slots, especially in Toyota’s lineup.
228hp 4cyl 86 30kish
255hp 4cyl...
I think the quality and the tune-ability of the 4 cylinder Supra (turbo equipped) makes it the better choice among the two.
When I think of entry level sports car I think Miata, BRZ, and Civic SI. The Supra is a good notch above that!
I actually like the look!
Sorta disappointed they didn’t put a turbo in it. An extra 20 something horsepower isn’t exactly an astronomical jump considering minivans and econoboxes make more power. Fingers crossed they will badge a model with STI/ GR, but people were hopeful for the first...
What consumer would argue with a free install? Of course for free would be the optimal outcome for a consumer. Although the install was less than perfect, I think the way we handled business was fair and reasonable. In fairness to the PPF installer, there was already road rash on the corner of...
Out of curiosity, did you look in the spark plug wells to see if it was leaking above the plug, I.E. the valve cover gasket?
I replaced some plugs on my old M3 and thought they were coming from the inside of the spark plug, turns out it was dropping down the plug when I pulled it out...
Headlights like a Cayman. Rear like an RCF. Doesn’t look too bad in those shots. Will have to see it in person.
I’m more curious about the engine specs. Is it going to have a spooly snail or not? Personally I think it’ll be naturally aspirated but hopefully I’m wrong.
