are you on oem suspension? if wheels are skipping/skidding over bumps when turning, that's probably more related to the suspension not being able to soak up the bumps. you may have too much high speed rebound, which can cause the wheels to hop instead of soaking the bump.
sway bar redistributes...
Yeah I think that’s more of an old chassis issue. With modern chassis, not as much of a concern. But just something in the back of my mind since we don’t have the OEM engineering data.
Anyone switch from divorced rear coilover to true coilover? Any concerns with the additional stress on the rear chassis top mounts? I think you start running out of higher spring options with a divorced setup and motion ratio.
I’d imagine all the GT4 Supras use true coilover but not sure if...
they should be similar unless the shocks are worn. The Ohlins service centers can request a factory dyno sheet so they can match a rebuilt shock with the factory curves.
warranty only covers manufacturing defects though. suspension is a wear and tear item and there's nothing to really warranty.
i'm not familiar with these OEM shock tuning services. with the big name performance shocks, they have established dealer networks across the country that will allow you...
to be honest i think most of these GR parts are overpriced. you can get much better shocks than those GR branded ones. MCS, JRZ, Penskes, just to name a few. They'll be customizable and rebuildable, which is what most club racers and professional teams use.
has anyon done a dyno on these shocks yet? the closest i've found that describes ohlins curves is this:
not specific to the gr supra but i would imagine the tuning strategy will be similar for all applications. it's probably double digressive. soft settings will be similar to OEM curve.
just picked up a set of ohlins road and track and will be installing them in the spring. i'll be using the OEM top hats to keep this more or less a street car with some occasional autox/track.
just a few things i noticed. the procedures ask to cut the bottom of the dust boot by 30mm. i...
lol tell this author to get a new job. a car's demand can't be purely measured by sales numbers. if toyota decided to make fewer supras, then what do you think that will do to the sales numbers?
a better industry measurement is number of days the car spends on the dealer lot. recent supras...

These are much newer than the MPSS and directly compete with the ps4s. Should be a decent upgrade from stock for street usage.
Note the sway bar has 0 function when going straight over bumps. It only functions under under roll or difference between left and right suspension travel.
Sway bar function:
99.9% of mods don’t add value and may actually hurt it. This includes tints, ppf, etc. I’d rather buy a car 100% unmolested.
unless there was some factory defect that only the aftermarket can fix. Not aware of it for the Supra.
if you intend to sell, do mods that are easily reversible and can...
Toyota doesn’t build to order. Production numbers are determined much earlier regardless of what the sale numbers are. Toyota and dealers can control how the cars are allocated.
with high interest rates, don't expect toyota to produce a lot of 2024 models. for 2023 model year, small dealers received 1-2 supras per year and the large ones probably around 2-4.
modded cars are always going to be difficult to sell unless you're prepped for a specific class and somebody just wants a turn key car. otherwise, the parts almost always add no value and sometimes decrease value.
consider going back to 100% stock and selling the parts if nobody bites for a...
i agree ps4s is better and newer.
the car was engineered around 2012 so the PSS was the only tire at the time. toyota/bmw doesn't seem to want to put a lot of money into the supra. customers generally don't care about tires, so you see toyota spending money on decals etc.
what kind of grip are you looking for? something like re71rs? those tires are horrible for the average owner. the supra is a GT car that needs good street compliance. the stock tires do that job pretty well.
the 4s? 11k tread life is pretty reasonable considering it's a summer performance tire on a 400hp car. some people get half of that. all depends on your right foot.
