They’re not the same PSS. The Supra has custom PSS as indicated by the star on the tire’s sidewall.
Not all tire retail stores will stock the Supra tire. You may just need to buy a new set of Michelin 4s as the closest set to OEM.
Any gains are by “accident” without a tune and potentially unsafe. You’re changing engine airflow without knowing what the engine is actually doing. If you want controlled gains, you need a tune.
when you change the air flow that much such as removing the cat, the ECU probably isn't going to be able to compensate. this goes for any turbo cars.
you should have this properly tuned or put the stock cat back.
Yeah, sent them both emails.
I was also considering Ohlins Road and Track but they seem to be more street orientated. They support many platforms that I'm not really sure how optimized their setup is either. Their name is big and that helps them make sales, but you're also paying for some of...
Can you elaborate on the incorrectly sized BC shocks? Do you mean how BC uses a "universal" shock body and adapts it to multiple platforms?
I've heard of Shaftworks and they were another option. They're roughly $500 more but there's less information on their website. I'm not sure if they take...
Both RedShift and Shaftworks offer MCS/JRZ budget alternative track coilovers. Does anyone have experience with them?

the darkhorse would be faster on larger tracks. you can tune the car to be more optimized at each track with different tires, shocks, springs, etc. the tuning is never ending.
this is why i dont agree with using aftermarket tires for these comparisons. it's not how the engineers tuned the car...
the supra, like many modern affordable sports cars, suffer from being too disconnected. this is just the nature of a modern platform.
the Z is much older, therefore, provides more driver engagement. this is why he prefers it. this is why the ND2 miata is arguably one of the last pure sports...
why do track times even matter when these cars are driven 99% on public roads?
drivers cars are usually defined as a car that's engaging, 1:1 control, and provides feedback to the driver. these are objective characteristics. the Z does this better than the supra and dark horse.
most consumers...
Track times are theoretical. You don’t buy the car based on track time. I guess some do. Arguing one car is better purely because it’s faster on a track is silly.
this is why he says the Z is a better drivers car. Same for the Miata etc.
The 45th anniversary is 65k for essentially cosmetic changes. A GRMN Supra is easily 10-20k more. I’m pretty certain Toyota won’t sell these in North America. Toyota has never sold GRMN models in NA either.
How does the logic work on the muffler valve? Based on what I can tell, it seems to work like this:
Sport mode: valve is always open no matter the load on the engine
Normal mode: valve is closed under idle and low load
What about other scenarios such as:
Normal mode mid load?
Normal mode high...
