  1. Paint chip repair.

I bought a Colour n drive kit and the colour match was too dark. Then I went and got the local auto parts store to mix me some off their chart. It was too light so I mixed them both 2 parts to 1 part for a perfect match. 2 drops of one to 1 drop of the other, easy. Then use one of these to...
  2. Manual Supra Shift Knob Options out there?

Personally Im not a fan of any accessory that prioritises their brand logo as part of the design. I'm not interested in an aesthetic mod that shouts the brand name at me esp in this case. Leather is also not an optimal shift knob material with regards to wear, and general contamination from the...
  3. Is a 2024/2025 Supra a good choice for a daily driver?

It's a sports car. Can it be used as a DD, yep. Is it a good choice as a DD as your subject heading asked? Nope. Phil
  4. Any idea what the sound is? (From engine bay).

If you are going to listen to all the sounds a modern car makes like this then you'll drive yourself crazy but for what it's worth maybe it's the fuel pressure regulator bleeding off fuel pressure as the fuel system heat soaks after shutdown. Phil
  5. Bimmerplug - Beware

Not exactly how you told the story in your OP, however even after 3 days, you snooze you lose. Phil
  6. Bimmerplug - Beware

You want a vendor to still offer a special discount 2 months after the offer! Do you go into the local supermarket with a 2 month old catalogue looking for the same "specials", or expect the Black Friday specials to last all year, lol. Phil
  7. Stripped oil pan threads

Some OEM stuff comes with inserts from the factory std. Most don't obviously but in certain applications and where the cost isn't an issue they use inserts from brand new. Phil
  8. Stripped oil pan threads

Only a crazy person would replace the pan for this. Helicoil/time-sert or drill and thread it for a 14mm drain bolt. Phil
  9. Clutch Slipping on stock A91 MT...

Pilot bearing? The bearing in the end of the crank that supports the front of the input shaft? How would you distinguish any sound due to wear or failure between it and the clutch throwout/release bearing? Clutch shudder is the usual indication of a bad/failed pilot bearing. Phil
  10. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

Ok here’s a question I can’t answer definitively but would love to know. Bleed motorcycle brakes using a pressure bleeder vac bleed or manually and get a decent lever but a bit spongy. Useable just but not “solid” no matter how much you bleed it. Now apply the brakes hard and use a the wrap on...
  11. The official ask zrk anything thread

After 2 focus RS's and an escape DD I'd never buy another Ford and I told them so. I bought 3 new cars in 8 months and a Ford was never in the equation. Poor QC. Phil
  12. Finding my Launch Edition Plaque.

I do, forget it. Obtaining a new badge through Toyota ain going to happen because Toyota dont give a shite about stuff like this same as other manufacturers both car and motorcycle. Stuff like this is brought to you by the “marketing” people not the design and engineering people. Phil
  13. 2023 MT Supra Clutch Replacement Options

Sounds more like the new clutch needs bleeding more. Possibly some clutch drag is making the first gear selection harder and the OP feels like it’s in gear but it’s only half in gear. As you release the clutch it pulls it in the rest of the way. You can get the opposite as well where it will...
  14. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

    Yep thats what did it:)
  15. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

You might not be aware but the majority of cars sold in the world are manual transmissions. Here in Italy I'd estimate 80% of all ICE vehicles are manuals. Doesn't even need to be small cars either but delivery vans etc as well. It's only places like the US, Australia and maybe a few others that...
  16. Stock Michelin tires are cracking

Let me guess, in Florida anything made of white plastic like refrigerator door handles and aircon remote controls or air con wall units also turn a tobacco yellow after a few years? As for the tyres I wouldn't even consider replacing them even for a track day. You'll wear them out at the track...
  17. DIY Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Removal

Yes I've read this sort of opinion more than once, same as I've read about ecoboost blocks cracking because head gaskets fail and many other "opinions" on many other mechanical things. But no one has accepted my challenge yet which will prove if the CDV actually slows the release of the clutch...
  18. 3 year maintenance Brake fluid/pad and rear differential fluid

Diff oil should be fine at 12,000 miles with your usage. Phil
  19. Formula 1 Talk

I'm just south of Napoli now. Spent the day at Amalfi. Phil
