you're forgetting that the 4cyl was never designed for the US, and likely makes decent power without the EU particulate filter... that said, I was told two weeks ago 4cyl was no go for USA for like the 20th time, so.
that pricing and spec is wishful to be sure, but it would be awesome if that's how things were lol
again, as recently as a few months ago the forecast by engineering was: 45k 4cyl / 55k 6cyl (~250hp / ~350hp respectively). It's the best bet to keep expectation within those general guidelines...
That is something I have yet to confirm, but I'm really thinking the heavy and expensive car is the Z4 at this point. There is some obvious crosstalk between the two for obvious reasons, but being that the BMW employee speaking to the gentlemen a few pages back gave specs for performance trims...
It may be Toyota tech to some degree, but BMW also has their own hybrid tech so I'm not sure. I typically don't ask about the Z4 stuff because frankly I don't really care lol. This information came about because I was asking about the Supra and possible hybrid tech implementation.
Info just came back:
no hybrid powertrain for the Supra at this time and higher curb weight figure was suggested as belonging to solely the Z4. Apparently Z4 does have the hybrid tech, but that was all I was told.
Finally I can rest and get back to working on my other project...

last sentence mostly... the Supra is nice, but honestly it has nothing on the RC-F in terms of luxury/comfort. there is also the status aspect, but I'm not really sure to what degree that would play into someone cross shopping the two.
^ I'll just say that we're working on some tech that may or may not be related to this line of thinking (not free valve however) over in my new area, so this has just gotten interesting.
I mean, if the high power car is 3300lbs, 400hp, and $60-65k, it will absolutely sell. so yes, that part...
well, you still have TSS and I have really no idea what that hybrid trans weighs unfortunately. It can't be light by any means though...
Well, the electric turbo/supercharger tech actually makes more sense for the ethos of the car, but having heard nothing of it makes me wonder and still point...
could be that, but that technology is being tested elsewhere at the moment and afaik is Toyota only.
it would surprise me if that was being shared with BMW, regardless of the collaboration, but I guess it is possible.
I honestly dont have much information past what I've posted at this point as it's gotten very hard to come by new information, especially that is reliable. However, if they do produce an electrically assisted model, it likely uses the ZF system:
This is also another avenue that could also...
