It sounds like a born again 350/370Z. In AU, an 86 is literally half the price, new, of a 370Z. The zed sucked. Heavy and truck engine-d. I drove both and bought the 86.

That. sucks. Very disappointing. I had slim hope that Au would get a less bloated I6 turbo version, but sadly, not looking that way any more. The JZA80 TT cranked out, what, 330hp factory? The VVTi even a bit more? It also sat from 1450-1550kg (3190-3410lbs).... Honestly, just modernising...

Yeah, us Aussies like our performance cars. For example, we're the third biggest market for AMG in the world... and we only have 23 million people in the country the size of the US. Not bad :P

that post is old as the hills, and we know the supra doesn't even feature the B58 anymore - so a grain of salt with the performance figures. colours could be anything i suppose, but it make sense to share them across Z4

Yeah, to have space for the A90 Supra I'd need to sell my Benz before depreciation really hits hard - and I won't do that until I have some reasonable idea of what we're getting in the A90. Will be a used one in a few years now.

I just wish Toyota would throw an official bone, something to create a bit of excitement and optimism....

I'm staggered that such a significant change was made so late into design cycle. The extra 20kg would need calibration, testing and validation of all the dynamic systems....

yes, it needs <1400kg and >350hp. The JZA80 RZ did 0-100km/h in 4.5s. If those above specs are accurate, it's a definite no from me. the plus side, if it sucks, it will drive A80 supra prices even higher :P

I hope they do, just so we can say the A90 is a different engine. Not that I have a problem with a BMW I6 :P

The supra isn't going to use the B58 as a base. it has a parts bin special with new bits, in order to meet Toyota's design requirements. BMW may use either new engine or B58, unsure

it has been all but confirmed at 1385kg. lots of carbon and composites. impressive for a vehicle with today's level of safety mandates, an auto transmission and an iron block.
