I can't speak for the vipers ans vettes, but I should clarify. I mean full ducting all the way to the centre of brake rotor. Sometimes, depending on pad and rotors selection, you could end up in a situation on the street where the rotors would be too cool, and compromise braking performance...
My understanding is that it's the medium ground between grey cast iron and ductile cast iron.
I'm assuming that the JZ blocks were cast grey iron?
Also more science!!!
I'm just curious to see what the future holds... if there was a new I6 developed with all the good things from the 2JZ taken on board...
I mean, the JZ are an evolution of the 7MGTE really aren't they.... and look how good they turned out.
Functional brake ducting etc on a road car can be problematic.... so it makes sense these are covered up.
From the functional aspect, the size and lead-in to the vents will have the most dramatic effect on the aero performance, blocking them off will create a high pressure region on the blocked...
wat
this is the direct opposite of my experience
maybe if you keep them on the rev limiter 24/7 and run them on cooking oil?
One of my close friends has an S3 with nearly four times the km on it. It gets regular oil changes and serviced correctly - but it's all done by us (euro are super easy...
