The A90 just went up again, was pushing it. Didn't say much, commentators mentioned they spoke to Tada and he mentioned it would have about 6 months of suspension tuning and then is complete. 350hp ish.
edit: i triumphed over old age and worked out how to send a link from the live stream at...
it sounds a lot better than B58 BMW engines (source: youtube exhaust rev videos) imho. A lot raspier....
one can still dream of something that sounds as incredible as the M88/3.... despite turbochargers effectively being mufflers as well...
glad to see there's a few of us lurking in the same places :P
regardless of how this car actually is - and i want it to be a weapon, being supra tragic (all generations) - hunting around for clues and hints and snippets of information is fun.
So apparently there are former Yamaha people working on the sound of this car. And there has been consideration under the bonnet for room for a big single turbina.
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong :)
Yep, all spot on.
Aluminium alloys are less resistant to long period of heat cycles when compared to steel also.
Ultimately too, in a pure strength vs area argument, steel will be stronger.
There's a lot of alloy engines now that are being tuned to make lots of power. A 2JZ from 1993...
Completely agree. Porsche have had 60 years to perfect how to handle the engine in an unconventional spot.
If we had an engine bay shot of the A90, it'd be great to see where the six sits relative to the front axle...
You're spot on.
I am sure the aftermarket will cater to different vents (that door one is a separate panel)
Think of the 'carbon blade' on the first gen Audi R8. The V8 model was flush, the V10 had an angry flare/protrusion to it. I can see that type of thing coming along for the A90.
completely agree Jeff, and well said.
I am hoping the seats and dash overall design is enough to feel aggressive Toyota.
IMHO, the overall shape looks more LFA with BMW font (under the blankets) than pure BMW... but as you said, the overall feel needs to feel like a Supra.
I'm keen to see the...
that's a nice shape, imagine that in RSP or a nice metallic red.
Also, with only four pot fronts and rear brakes *that* small, it suggests it doesn't weigh much.... :D
