I've been at it since 2006... but still butterflies. I put a lot of pressure on myself until I get a few laps in to see that I'm competitive with the other drivers. Then I start having fun because I love competing... but still get more focused than I'd like :(
I naturally stay to myself, mostly because I don't want to bother people while they are doing their thing. Probably because I get nervous while competing and kinda get into "the zone" where I'm focused on how I can improve for the next outing. I guess I figure "what if everyone is doing the...
Mine works great. As probably already mentioned, you have to put your garage door opener into a learning mode also. Once you do that, you are good to go. It's really nice not having to have an actual opener in the car, especially since I only have two.
I'm trying to do the best I can. It took decades to get here, though. Definitely took years and years of suffering and squeaking by lol
Always seat time. These cars do ridiculous lap times right out of the box. I go faster than a lot of the cars I'm on track with that have aero/more power/etc...
Hey, guys. Can you please type out your info? I do some of this editing from work and it's harder for me to get it off of screen shots than to cut/paste it onto the OP. Thanks, in advance!
I hardly did ANYTHING until my my kid turned 18 and finished high school. Now he's pretty much self-sufficient so I'm living my best life at (finally 49yo). 1999-2018 had me broke as f**k and no real time to hit the track. ?
Sadly, he doesn't share my excitement for cars. He's a computer guy...
Agreed. I did the instructing thing for a while, with beginner groups. I had to stop. I got too frustrated with students trying to do too much too fast and not listening to me. If they insist on killing themselves, they can do it without me in the car ?
Yep. With this car I have been averaging...
Thank you for posting the safety related disclaimer lol
I can't tell you how many people I tried to convince to please not use a harness bar as a mounting point for harnesses. The response I always get is "Durr. It's called a harness bar".
??
Good looking piece, dude. And digging that purple ????
From what I remember, track days will cook/dry out plasti-dip, then you end trying to chip it off in pieces. Judging by the threads I've read, that is. No personal experience.
I do miss the sounds, unfortunately my car has to be as competitive as possible right now. Next year I will be looking at doing things more for fun. Can't wait.
I deleted my resonator. No change in sound for me. I am on a stock air filter, if that makes a difference.
I use this since all of my hand tools are DeWalt. This runs off the cigarette lighter or a battery. I set the PSI and it runs to that pressure and stops. It even adds as extra 0.2 psi or so to compensate for air loss when you remove it lol
From what people who know better than I have told...
These wheels look amazing when they're all one color. I can't stand black wheels. I'm assuming I can throw just about any color on there? Maybe a lighter gray.
So what am I doing wrong that I'm not getting understeer with stock suspension? Well, I did once my tires were done, but the car felt well balanced up to that point. I'm not finding any overwhelming need to change anything to make the car more drivable.
I do have a knack for feeling comfortable...
