I watched the video from the dealer meeting hoping they would show it, but it didn't make an appearance. Not to say it wasn't shown to the people there, it just wasn't on the video.
Even on the Avalon, the vents on the sides of the bumper are real. It would be weird for the Supra to have fake vents when the Avalon has actual vents.
I was able to sit in one of those a couple of years ago. Very impressed with that car. I don't know why they wouldn't offer that transmission in the IS350 as I believe it was the same engine.
I would have preferred leather trim, but I had tweed trim with leather seats and loved it. Mine was exceptionally clean though, I've seen plenty where the tweed looks like dirty carpet.
Just thinking about it is making me want to go buy another one.
I feel like the Z32 interior was a higher quality than the MKIV. The cockpit feel is nice in the Supra, but I also feel like I'm surrounded by plastic. The Z gives you a lot more leather (or tweed) where the Supra is plastic.
This is what A70 tried telling everyone who kept saying that Toyota wasn't involved in the project and the car was a BMW with a bodykit, etc. No specific details, but essentially, "expect some changes to the top end" and "think about what they did with the Subaru engine in the 86". There was...
Again, when Toyota asked MKIV owners if an I6 was necessary, I doubt they were asked "Would you rather have an I6 for the sake of heritage even if it's a BMW I6, or is a Toyota V6 ok?" and I REALLY doubt they were told that the BMW I6 meant that compromises had to be made, specifically in...
I'm always surprised to see such demand for TSS on these enthusiast forums. It's great stuff, I just didn't think most people cared that much, and it generally complicates a vehicle in ways that people who work on them or modify them don't want to deal with. People on the Tacoma forums are...
The idea of a highway roll-race 1000hp Supra (or GTR) is antithetical to the claimed vision of the MKV. If all you want to do is go fast in a straight line, an auto or DSG will serve you well, there's no arguing that. Even if you want to go fast on a track and put down good lap times, DSG or a...
Kind of along the lines of clutchless manual in the weird 86 Targa concept, I think it could be interesting to utilize the ZF8 with the clutch pack, but give it an actual clutch pedal. They could retain the paddle shifter auto, but with some added control via the clutch.
Kind of a weird idea...
It actually looks like a real SUV for once. I'm pretty happy with that. If they could make it actually decently capable off-road like the FT-AC hinted at, that would be even better.
Well now that there will be no real information on here maybe I can pull myself away until production.
Yeah, I think if the question were worded as "Would you rather stick to the Supra heritage and have an I6 even if it's from a BMW, or should we just stick a Toyota V6 in it?" the answers may...
