I've been worried about this ever since seeing the GRMN race car. Look back at the pictures with someone sitting in the driver's seat; their shoulders are basically at the top of the door. I'm sure the seating position in that is lower than the production car, but it wasn't a good sign. That...
I don't necessarily disagree, but I also prefer this car to an NSX/GTR competitor. Those cars have become something that I have very little interest in. That's just me though. If we were to pretend that these cars continued to compete over the past ~20 years it would be evident that the Supra...
You could say the same about a number of cars in CTR range that shouldn't be. That car is impressive for what it is. It's also incredibly ugly. If you don't mind driving that to save a few bucks, go for it.
I'm with you. It's going to be extremely hard to get my money with an auto, but I think it will be an awesome car either way, which is why I'm still here.
Porsche really knows how to get money out of those cars too. I just tried pricing out a 911 Carrera and ended up tacking on $40k in options that I would never miss if I didn't know they were available (leather a/c vents???). Nice car, but it gets out of hand quick.
I love this swap, nice work. I've probably mentioned it before, but I had a 2nd gen IS250 6MT and then a 3rd gen IS350 F-Sport and while the 3rd gen was a great car, the 2nd gen with the 6MT, even with the 250, was so much more fun. I bet it's awesome with the added power.
I think that's where I'm gonna end up with this. At any price point they put this at there's gonna be a 911 I'd rather have. Just depends on if I feel like it's a better idea to get a new car than a used one..... and if there's a manual.
Not necessarily the last Supra, but the last "pure petrol engine" Supra at least. I'm sure there will be a shift to hybrid/electric/hydrogen sports cars in the near future. For most that might as well be the end of the Supra, but that's the future regardless of the Supra name.
I'm tempted to...
