Hopefully I'm not talking out my ass here, but from what I saw on the news, UK home mortgages are not fixed rates for more than 3-5 years so UK households feel a lot more of the pain, not like here in the US where so many people are refinanced @ 2-4% interest for 30 yrs, so higher rates don’t...
I'm a toxic pessimist here and my guess is that your dealer is either selling/trading vehicle allocations to other dealers or dealership employees/VIPs are jumping you in line (let's not be naive?). I'm in a similar situation as you (deposit for +12 months), just getting the run around...
Here's another review:

"During my ride with the 2024 BMW Z4 M40i, Nick Gerstner, Product Manager of BMW Z4, tells me that the transmission was engineered specifically for this new Z4. It starts with the shift linkage which...
Maybe the shifter feel will fall somewhere in between the Supra and G8x haha. Stiffer suspension and re-tuned power steering hopefully makes it feel even better than you remembered.
"Our colleagues at Car and Driver report that the manual will only be available on the six-cylinder, 382-hp Z4...
What would be your main concerns about the Z4 not meeting your expectations? Convertible B58 noises without the wind buffeting! (yes yes i know easy fix for the Supra). Updated/upgraded interior quality/infotainment (design of course is subjective).
Toyota had mentioned about the GR Corolla that they wanted to make "one too few" of them and I'd assume that would translate over to the GR Supra. I'm guessing they don't want a repeat of the MKIV where they sat unsold at dealer lots.
"This won't be a limited-run model. BMW will build as many as it needs to satisfy demand, with production commencing early next year."

My thinking is we should be more concerned with how many manual Supra's Toyota wants to supply (I'd guess Toyota would keep production similar to the roughly 1200 MT Supra sold from Sept'22-July'23, so say at most 1500 for the full year) . You think a company like ZF will have a problem...
I guess uh, we don't want the Supra in America anymore....MT what a failure Toyota will say....

PS edit: I've had a deposit down for an MT for over 12 months....
When I look into the numbers and statements Toyota made in the last year since the MT was announced, I would argue production for the MT was not cut and it’s right in line with expectations from Toyota; only supply/production of the AT for the US market was cut.
For the MT, this is what happens...
I don’t mind the gap on the front lip as much as the fact that the height of the front lip and side skirts don’t line up. The front lip is higher than the sides on oem. It looks like this kit has decreased that gap, but still not flush.
Valiant effort in your long response. Most times people who respond ignorantly about a car are usually immature or lack perspective/experience. Hive-mind, what can we expect, this is a Supra MKV forum so there will always be overly biased responses. With that said as a new BRZ 2nd gen owner...
Is it the dealers or is it Toyota at fault? I'd say Toyota is to blame for limiting US supply on the Supra and also some of their other high in-demand vehicles. No one should be paying over MSRP on a hybrid Rav4, Sienna, Prius, etc.
TL;DR

I've had a deposit for over 12 months for a MT at MSRP. Couldn't keep waiting with no time estimation from my Toyota salesman, so picked up a BRZ at MSRP. Maybe I'll trade in if/when the Supra comes available to me, but so far loving the BRZ. Hindsight, I should of been more aggressive in my...
