2 things- shifter is actually different than g8x cars which is really meh, and chassis is comparably as dynamic as the supra, or at least close. auto z4 m40 felt good last time I drove one a few years back, hopefully with the new tuning its even better.

Maybe the shifter feel will fall somewhere in between the Supra and G8x haha. Stiffer suspension and re-tuned power steering hopefully makes it feel even better than you remembered.

Yep I saw that, but won't believe it till I see it or more people I trust get their hands on one.

Soooo, "we've been lazy for years until Toyota started fiddling with our parts. We've decided to spend some time to actually improve the transmission but we're only going to implement this for a car that sells max 3k annually." Nice!

Hope this doesn't take away from manual Supra production

This is my first thought... FUCK, already waited 12 months as #1 out of 40 waiting at my dealer for a 3.0 Premium MT. Not one has arrived. I hope this doesnt hurt Supra MT production

I'm a toxic pessimist here and my guess is that your dealer is either selling/trading vehicle allocations to other dealers or dealership employees/VIPs are jumping you in line (let's not be naive?). I'm in a similar situation as you (deposit for +12 months), just getting the run around "unfortunately we haven't received any MT Supra's this year" when smaller Toyota dealerships around me that charge markup have received multiple MT's. I'll be tempted by the MT Z4 next spring if I continue to hear the same old story from my Toyota dealership.

If you do the math based on the various things Toyota has put out in the media, they've produced just as many MT Supra's as Toyota USA planned. They said initially they were expecting to sell 25% manual Supra's and if you look at previous years of selling 5-6K Supra's annually, that would net you 1,200-1,500 MT Supra's annually which is right in the line with MT's sold so far even though total combined Supra USA sales is closer to 3,000 sold in the last 12 months.

I want one, as much as I love the supra, This is what I initially wanted. Definitely placing an order, if it is amazing when it comes here then i'll prob swap, if not I am loving my MT so no wrong choice.

same. Also was what I wanted if I were settling for an automatic. I’m a total whore for convertibles as well. Had the Supra not been so honestly fantastic looking, I’d be totally happy with a Z4

Not one bit. I have literally watched the entire inventory for the last 12 months through toyota and we get literally 0 MT supras within 500 miles. Besides the occasional A91. All coming through are Auto which is not what I am after. I saw one MT, about 391 miles away, called and it was $10k over MSRP. I hung up. I have a solid relationship with my dealer. Problem is most of our area is 4Runners, Tacomas and Tundras because its High Altitude with winter, Supras dont sell well here but the list says otherwise and Toyota doesnt care

I just turned 38, and weird things are happening...because I now also think the Z4 MT seems like an awesome option. Once again, the MT (& Sport package) option changes everything about the car in my eyes.
