  1. Lets see those 18" wheel setups!

I’ve got my stock height now, on Ohlins, so no rubbing up top where I was having problems. OEM suspension would have been fine too. I’m back to OEM height and on 275/35-18s. It’s fine for track and town. But just showing at full turn it’s tight. No problems as long as you’re aware. Each...

I agree with all y’all. Except Checo is in the same car and nowhere near Max’s capability. He has reached a pinnical that no one can deny. Clearly well deserved. Love watching Max drive! Yet Sergio is no 2 in the points. Lewis is close to overtaking that position. Back to the race, Lewis is on...
  3. First time out with the mk5 MT

Most run one click off. If you start getting intervention your screen will light up, you can’t miss it. That’s when you try running with it full off (hold the button down for over 3 seconds). Typically done only if you can control your slide. Pros will do this when they get in your car, counter...

Love this method for different pads on same rotors :)
  5. Lets see those 18" wheel setups!

Since I’m driving on a 275-18 square setup for 6 months, I bought some adjustable endlinks. You’re right, less problematic in town. Did you get anything else for less stress on the OEM geometry being inherently lower? And she’s tight on a full turn. Obviously trying not to full turn much and...

The customer service sounds excellent, however curious if Bryan and Christian got theirs working. I’d put mine in and try it but think there is some coding involved. Regardless, I’ll have my fav mechanic give it a go before Oct 2024 Sebring. Thanks for the heads up Kevin!

Lots of options. I’d do the tissue paper Cusco this time. But if I was going wheel to wheel, I’d get one custom made for the same price. We had a local shop near Sebring make mine to spec in my S2K. It was cheaper than I thought. Get local race shops opinions for sure.
  8. B58 longevity with 500+hp?

I broke the rod on one of the pistons. The whole thing snapped. It was an AP1. The team (Sick Sideways) would ride my ass for over revving. Now I know why ??ā€ā™‚ļø They said there is no extra power up there. Shift 500 to 1000 rpm sooner. Luckily they got me another used AP1 for around $3500. I also...

I think MB should have talked strategy prior to turn 1. Hope Toto can get those guys to work together in the future. Back to that heat: https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a45484015/f1-drivers-furious-over-too-dangerous-qatar-heat Max can do it all! Still, I don’t want to see him or anyone else...

George always drives well. But he's definitely not as experienced or as composed as Lewis and is he trying to makeup for it. I dunno. I could be perceiving him wrong. As far as that heat, two hours is pretty damn grueling under those conditions (for pulling g's, concentration, muscle fatigue)...
  11. B58 longevity with 500+hp?

I'm lucky that was included with the overpriced windshield ?
  12. B58 longevity with 500+hp?

I'd like to be able to keep a windshield past one season of tracking.... I did blow a AP1 engine on my S2K. They kept telling me not to over rev it so much. That taught me. Bought a used replacement and never did it again. Plus, no need to in this car. She's such a torque monster ?

Great thread btw broham. And thanks for that suggestion. What a cool little revolver!

Little more clam on this coast - we'd like to think. I keep a snub nose hammerless .357 Smith & Wesson in the glovebox. My wife likes her little Glock G26. The daughter her Lady Smith. We also have a G19X, some more Smith & Wesson revolvers (less parts, easy to clean), Walther PPK (1st gun) and...

OMG where to start... I'm becoming less and less of a Russel fan. Sorry but he should have known Lewis was there and stayed more steady at the wheel (I was thinking the same as you) or let him by. It's Lewis Hamilton for F* sake! He needs to sit back, shut up and learn from the master. There's a...
  16. Lightweight battery alternative

Fantastic! I just spoke to someone from there as well. He went into a bit more detail about how it’s not an exact match, but that it should work just fine. He said our spec calls for a higher Ah (he referred to an H9 but they don’t make one) however our alternator should be able to keep it...
  17. First time out with the mk5 MT

Nothing to sweat driving with a major group at a HPDE event. Most people assume it’s racing and it’s far from it. You go to have fun and learn. You know if you don’t have self control or won’t listen to instruction. If that’s the case, then you should worry. You’d literally have to ignore the...

Velcro for comfort. https://a.co/d/eux52sA I put them on the passenger seat in the car so I don’t forget them. Damn it hurts without them! My buddy walks around with it down around his ankle and then slides it up drive time. It’s funny but he doesn’t give a ? and he’s fast as hell around the...

I like the Hawk DTCs for performance/price/rotor wear. Keep them on all year. https://a.co/d/9RbF5Fl I put those on ā˜ with my seat back and slide the seat up. It’s tight! (donā€˜t forget the knee pad, lol) Adjustable lower control arms are nice to be able to get that negative camber from the...

I had camber Verus plates and they were just fine. Unfortunately I bought springs that were too low & needed to make a change anyways. Coulda shoulda…. stock suspension woulda been just fine. Go for as much negative camber as you can up front (up to -3.2) and your tires will thank you. Dang...
