Got some attention from some teens on a date over the weekend; they were in a Jeep Liberty, so I gave them a few revs for some crackles and pops (locked ECU, not a crackle tune).
It definitely has the modern 2JZ in the B58.
There's a couple of us who track our Supras up here, myself and @WSUPRA along with a few others who I don't think are on the forum.
I've run multiple track days on it; pulls extremely hard on the straights. Custom tune is worth the investment. Map 2 doesn't compare because its not smooth power delivery.
I'm reaching the point where a proper tune would clean up the powerband.
Plenty of attention in Seattle b/c afaik nobody else in the area really drives it downtown.
Lots of tech money over in neighboring Bellevue/Kirkland/Redmond, so it doesn't gather as much attention there unless we're all cruising.
Head more than 30 minutes in any direction, its a showstopper...
I have noticed that the Caymans and Boxsters do get the "black sheep" treatment from most Porsche owners in their 911s. Everyone either bought a 911 or is thinking of getting one at some point.
On a separate note, DIY maintenance on the Supra is largely easier than on Porsches. Engine...
Congrats! Welcome to the club. I work from home, so no daily commute to contend with, but I do use it for groceries, tracking, and spirited drives.
For pros and cons:

Even in stock form, its quick, both in a straight line and around the corners.
Attention-getting (you'll stand out on...
There's a meeting from 11:30-2 for GR owners (86 twins and Supras) on Sunday down at Griot's in Tacoma.
Most of the Supra owners out here really only use them as summer cars, so this will probably be the last meet for the year.
Outside of Supra-specific stuff, there's usually daytime meets on...
Got the Verus brake cooling kit and Verus master cylinder brace in today. The brace should be quick, but probably gonna talk to Seattle's BMW guru to get the cooling kit installed during the track off-season (no time due to other commitments for me to install)
