I also run 1 click so its only VSC enabled at the track. I've also noticed that it really has only intervened to save the car. I've also run some sessions with traction off, but I agree, I like having the safety net with VSC on, especially since I've been experimenting with new lines to improve...
A couple of friends with GT4s were telling me its a bit too hard for regular street use and that the GTS would be a better streetable option. More or less similar to how the GT3 RS is a bit too track focused and a 911 GTS is more comfortable for street duty.
Jeez these markups are stupid.
I saw a mostly stock (underglow and some CF panels) used Supra on sale for $75k locally -- it was clear the owner paid markup and is trying to make that back, which nobody should pay.
Spotted a bone stock yellow one (fairly new) near the Costco near the Seattle port on Sunday.
Also a silver one on Oregon plates with a Mk4 style spoiler near the Shake Shack in Kirkland earlier that day.
ON A SIDE NOTE, hope to see you guys at the GR meet at Griot's in Tacoma at 11:30 this...
Tried to hit up Leavenworth, but got blocked by a forest fire. Also ordered the Verus brake cooling kit, master cylinder brace, and diff and transmission fluids.
Improve:
Buffeting (although this is easily and cheaply fixed -- definitely worth a mention)
bit tougher to get into/out of compared to other cars
no physical boot release
less visibility
random rattles
Like:
low end torque
handling characteristics
appearance (rivals much more expensive cars)...
Part of it is distracted driving. I see a phone in a car cabin, I'm moving away from that car ASAP.
And with the number of foreign nationals here, it's entirely plausible a good amount don't understand the rules of the road.
I agree, cars are meant to be driven. Probably the only things I'd keep cooped up are a Ford Pinto and British Leyland cars that would break if you looked at them the wrong way.
For front plates, in some cities, the rule is that you can't get a ticket for it as a primary offense. I haven't seen as many cops here as I did camped out on the GSP in NJ looking for speeders.
Do note drivers here kinda suck in general on the highway (and some clueless people in the city who...
- What’s your experience been with police? As strict and attentive as California?
Haven't been in CA, but there are no emissions rules here so you can run catless. They do ticket for loud exhausts in Bellevue and Redmond. Mostly Ka band and laser for radar, so have a detector handy.

It feels like a whole new car with a lot more grip than stock. I think I can cut the time down a little bit more with some more practice with the new line I'm taking through turn 6. It's definitely faster; I just need more practice for what the braking zone on this setup is.
Time-permitting, I...
Down to 1:56 at the Ridge on the current setup -- learned a better line around the carousel from a friend with a GT4, and gaining much more confidence in the extra grip the setup has.
There's an entire thread on this: Power loss at track | SupraMKV - 2020+ Toyota Supra Forum (A90 MKV Generation)
This is definitely a thing. Happened to me today at 2 bars of fuel on a 90 degree day at the track.
