  1. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

I'm a bit confused. If you mean the FF variable in the log goes to 50 when you lift, that's because 50 is basically a passthrough. JB4 not intervening wastegate control when not on the throttle. Its probably just a coincidence your "user adjustable" ff value is also 50, because that the default.
  2. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

Boost safety only applies to sustained boost, not a little spike. When I am talking about FF adapting up, I am talking about FF value under user adjustment, not the variable in the log.
  3. Previous Ownership? What did you drive before the Supra?

    1991 300ZX NA 2+0 5spd 2015 VW GTI S 2 door 6spd 2023 Supra MT Premium still own all 3
  4. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

I was aware that it did, but the throttle cut in map 0 was a lot more severe than I expected it to be. Not surprised if that's from the downpipe.
  5. Pistol location recommendations

I need a smaller handgun? Glock 34 G5 is a little big for vehicle duty.
  6. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure it's a meaningless variable for the JB4 on this platform. Thought I read that somewhere. So with my new knowledge of the "on throttle overboosting", I started a new map from scratch today. I did several logs on Map 0 and I could see that even the...
  7. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

Sure didn't take much reading to figure out what causes throttle cuts on MT JB4 cars. Makes me wonder if some of my maps would work better in Normal mode lol. I have never logged in normal mode.
  8. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

I genuinely would like to do this but don't know where to start. I think it could help me figure out the cause of my DME boost targets dropping out randomly despite good trims/AFRs. Anyone run a ROM compare on MT vs AT cars?
  9. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

Not really sure about the DME ignition tables. I read a bit about stratified charge and it doesn't seem that its used under high load situations. Apparently its not great for exhaust particulates either, so its probably on its way out. As far as I can tell, the B58 doesn't use it.
  10. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

B58 DME is going to target mid 14s no matter what octane you put in there. In fact, if you raise octane too much with ethanol, your AFRs are gonna go up when you max trims.
  11. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

93 is perfectly safe for using Map 4. Your timing crash is not an octane issue. I think its because of underboosting. Let FF adapt up or set it to 58 yourself. Set boost safety to 23.
  12. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

That's how I do it. If you figure out anything better, let me know! Mid 14s is 100% normal for this car, even at 20+ psi. Don't worry unless you see anything 15+. Anyone at BMS and also Jesse will tell you the same. Direct injection car with very precise throttle control to prevent lean...
  13. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

Be wary of underboosting by this much as your trims will be sky-high. Say your Target at 4000 is 19psi, and DME_BT is 14 psi. Underboosting by 3-4 psi will send an ECU_PSI value of ~10 psi or less, while your actual boost is ~16. The car won't be willing to give much fuel if it thinks its below...
  14. How To: Oil Change Instructions

Just did my first oil change Tuesday and I put in 6.6-6.7ish quarts and the oil level read perfect first try. I couldn't remember if it was 6.5 liters or 6.5 quarts recommended for re-fill, but right in the middle worked out fine.
  15. Best tuning options for 2023 MT

I don't recommend JB4 for MT cars. It takes a ridiculous amount of effort to get dialed in. I'm still working with BMS directly to test development JB4 systems on my car. Just femto unlock + whatever tune platform your local tuner prefers if your budget allows it.
  16. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

Answered your questions below! In short - Once you are nailing your boost targets perfectly, just look at the WGDC curve - that is exactly what you want the FF curve to look like (for AT cars). Adjust FF variable to change the height of the curve, and Duty bias to change the shape of it (by...
  17. Downpipe questions

The cat needs to be close to the turbo to stay hot enough to remain efficient. Not enough room in engine bay for valved system.
  18. JB4 logging question: Target boost data unit convention

hey thats me! Yeah, your timing is a bit all over the place and its probably just due to the throttle closures. Some throttle closure is normal and okay, but generally throttle dipping under 75ish means you are overboosting a bit more than the car expected which will pull timing. I would...
  19. JB4 and Partial unlock questions

Chill man! It's all good. Not trying to win anything - just want more info on the failure mode if there's a genuine risk of destroying my brand new car?
