Why keep the Supra and Z? Figured they'd fulfill the same sort of role in the garage.
I also have a Z32 ('91 2+0 NA), my first car. Fully planned on getting the new Z, then the MT Supra was announced and Toyota dealer reached out to me soon after. Never heard back from my Nissan dealer.. Of...
Love it! My 2 month old MT was a big hit during my wedding weekend in April. Wish I had gotten some pics of it with my wife, but was more than happy to get us around in style ;)
Y'all can learn from me... get your dream car BEFORE the wedding ?

Yes, catless does cause overboosting. And also yes, it does affect MT cars worse.
I really wouldn't recommend it unless you are tuning for it, which JB4 can do as well.
i actually have a "stock boost" map on my JB4 just so I can tune out the overboost with wastegate control...
Function werk catless with JB4 piggyback here. No CEL ever. Yours was probably an overboost CEL since catless requires custom JB4 wastegate tuning, or actual flash tune obv
Yeah except the tiny front fender panels. He offered to re-do them tucked if I wanted.
I would recommend that, since the ppf line is visible there. Not really anywhere else though.
Just to add about your weird shifting behavior....
The MT supra intentionally pressurizes the charge pipe between shifts so that it's more responsive in the next gear. Being catless is going to cause it to overboost between shifts, as you said. And overboost is throttle closure.
Yes, I have documented this quite a bit on my thread. I had no issue running JB+/JB4 on my MT and as soon as i went catless it became a mess...
Stock tune still seems smooth but my JB4 logs (in passthru mode) indicate significant throttle closures under 5k rpm.
This is a stock map log. Orange...
It's a hell of a car but the unfortunate reality is that mods don't add to the resale value. This forum is not a good sample of Supra buyer population.
I think it can sell at 65
I just did coding on my 2023 this week. Everything seems to work normally.
I did Sport plus and start/stop memory codings.
Turned off all the warning things, ASD, and M head-unit animation for a laugh.
I used the CX
Yeah honestly I kind of envy the people who are fine with parking their Supra anywhere. It stresses me out when I see cars pull in close to it and I can't fully enjoy what I'm out doing.
People can say "it's not a Koenigsegg, chill", but I did the same with my GTI? I just cannot help it

I put AMS wind buffetting kit on my car by like day 3 of ownership, and haven't given it a single thought since. It was $100 and looks OEM. There are many other options, cheaper too.
Not an excuse for toyota, but it is such an easy fix.
