Round Two
Chicago Area Supra Owners Group is having our second Cars and Coffee event on June 12th. The Supra owners in the area get up early and grab some donuts and coffee before taking a short cruise and rolling in together at North Suburbs Cars & Coffee. Anywhere from 10-15 of us typically...
No one drag racing messes with bimmercode stuff, especially Sport+ -- it seemingly has an effect on timing, it's a different factory map.
None of the issues we're all experiencing happen under load, it seems to all be during staging/launch/burn-out, etc. It's highly likely a lot of this stuff...
If you push the pedal "past" WOT you can feel a 'click' with your foot. That's the kickdown switch. At some speed/rpm combinations, it'll kick down to a lower gear.
We're seeing weird behavior at high rpm shifts, including hitting the limiter, getting stuck in first after the burnout, even when 'always start in 2nd' is selected, and other trouble. We've all sent logs over to XHP, so hopefully we'll get some more data soon and a bugfix.
It's likely the transmission adaptations. They adjust over time. It's possible to reset them with BimmerGeeks Pro Tool. https://www.bimmergeeks.net/protool
Haha, I know, I was already 30 minutes from my house when I texted you. We were all hoping we'd sneak a few better runs in. The prep was trash, we all spun. Jesse had a new best MPH at 150, picking up 30 in the backhalf, which is fucking bonkers, but still slow - 9.8, because the prep was bad.
So, thoughts.
* Stage 2
* Max RPM
* Always start in 2nd
This is the only shit we messed with. Trans isn't built enough to fuck with line pressure. It's just a baby Pure Drivetrain Stage 0.
New mechanics for me, so it's a little goofy getting used to it. Slapping over to drive after the launch...
Fucking people that think heritage or legacy is interesting blow my fucking mind. Like.. Who gives a fuck about any of that, especially with regard to cars. Dudes bonkers.
